  1. This guy is going to have to get at least one full, healthy season in to get to his maximum trade value. The question is do you hold on to him and give him the chance to do that next year or do you think he probably isn't capable of it and go ahead and trade him this offseason. I could argue both ways, it will be interesting to see what they do.
  2. With that arm they need to try to talk him into giving pitching a try.
  3. For 1000 allowed for the season. Can they do it?
  4. Morbid curiosity now. How many can they give up? What's the record?
  5. It will feel a lot better when Green is in the Orange and Black.
  6. Painful but necessary. We need 1:1
  7. Almost 50 games under .500? In September? With the Royals in town? They're lucky anybody's there.
  8. Fake a massive COVID outbreak and forfeit a bunch of games. Losing all these games and the 1st pick too would just be adding insult to injury.
  9. This would be a clutch loss with Arizona just a half-game back in the 1st pick sweepstakes. Let's see if they can push it in (opposite of pull it out).
  10. I know we need starters but we need relievers too. If it ain't broke don't fix it - leave him in the bullpen.
  11. Still 3 games better than the 2018 team after 130 games. Kind of mind-boggling when 40-90 is not the worst you've been in the last four seasons.
  12. Man, it's almost like he has gained experience and gotten better. You would think that's impossible if you listen to many on this board (and fans in general to be fair). This really needs to be kept in mind as this rebuild continues - all these young guys are going to struggle some (even the vaunted Rutchsman and Gonzalez), got to stay with them.
  13. Tomorrow night going for the tidy 25-75 since Means' no hitter. That's '62 Mets bad for 100 games.
  14. Nobody beats the Orioles 19 times in one season. Absolutely nobody!!!
  15. Jones has really been struggling with the Tides, at least offensively but certainly the Franco move should have come weeks ago.
  16. We are years away, I don't think people understand. We are light-years behind the good teams. It's like trying to build an expansion team without any of the advantages given to expansion teams - no expansion draft, no extra draft-picks. And all this in a brutal division with an unbalanced schedule. I know it sucks when you've already been through five seasons of horrendous baseball but it might be another five years before we see real progress on the field.
  17. I think what a lot of fans seem to miss is, unless this club can start developing it's own talent, laying out big contracts for free agents is just a waste of money. The young guys who are mostly failing now were not acquired by Elias. The Elias guys are coming so when they get here we will see. Stop blaming Elias for what was done before he got here.
  18. I'd be surprised if anyone on this current team will still be around on the next competitive Orioles team. I always say we are two years away from being two years away but even that is overly optimistic.
  19. Sole possession of the 6th longest losing streak now. Up next, the 2005 Royals and 1975 Tigers at 19.
  20. Might have been a business decision there by Mullins not to lay out. If so, can't blame him.

I will say the one possibility to get around the circumstances that make Baltimore so unattractive might be to go way overboard in terms of the length of the contracts and just plan for having to pay these guys for years after they've lost their effectiveness. That would allow for overpaying without blowing the pay-scale out of whack.
