Not sure that is really the case.  We are using all of our guys in relief right now.  I would move Ibaldo to the pen. Once you find a fifth starter then you can look to DFA him

But then he is just clogging a space in the bullpen. An optionable pitcher in the 5th slot could be nice as they can role with an 8 man bullpen in between starts.

No. My strategy is not grossly overpay someone. When was the last time Manny has hit well? Pretty much before last years All-Star Game. In case you didn't know, he's hitting in the 220's in late May.

Does that scream $30M per to you?

I don't agree with the dynamics of payment in the MLB but you aren't even trying to understand the current context of how players are valued. No one discusses Avg or rbi or basic stats anymore.

I despise mid game threads assuming we've lost the game.    This team doesn't give up nearly as easily as some fans.

That said, our bullpen is running on fumes.   Brach and Givens have been overused, and it shows.   They both badly need some down time, but it's hard to give it to them.

Obviously, the O's will be going with a 7-man pen tomorrow night, and for the foreseeable future.

At this point they might need an 8 man bullpen. Miley and Gausman on there better days, only give the team 4-5 innings and need to be piggy backed with Asher and or someone else.

So now what?  Asher and Bleier get optioned to AAA. Pena DFA. So who comes up?  Ynoa, Chricton, Jackson, Yacobonis, Wilson, Scott?

Brach, Givens, O'day and Hart look overworked.

I had posted in another thread, that I think at some point soon, Hart and or Givens might need to be sent down to give them a break.

I would assume Jackson, Ynoa, and a 3rd pitcher are up tomorrow. He'll, at this point I would boot Pena and Kim and go with an 8 man bullpen.

I'm about ready to blow up the whole damn thing.

This bullpen might need it soon. At some point, Hart and or Givens might need to be sent down to give them a break.

Blieir and Asher are likely gone after the game, especially if Ubaldo has to go in.

I assume at least Edwin Jackson is added. Plus Ynoa.

I believe we could keep Santander without activating him if he is in fact injured. Then his clock would reset next year and we could kick the Rule 5 game down the road after Kim's contract expires. So there is no point in activating him just to start his clock.

I do agree, for whatever reason Buck is not giving Kim the benefit of the doubt and is clearly prioritizing Mancini and Rickard even vs RHPs. As long as Mancini is producing and Kim is not, there is nothing wrong with that.

It doesn't reset though if days are accumulated this year. Technically he would become optionable at some point next year if he accrued days this year
