    Jake Arrieta

Jake Arietta is trying to prove that he is the real deal. Jake is 3-1 on the year for the Cubbies with a miniscule 1.98 ERA after today's gem. His last three starts: 6IP, 0 ER, 7 strikeouts 7IP, 0 ER, 9 strikeouts 7IP, 1 ER, 11 strikeouts (today). That feldman trade does not look very pretty right now considering we had Feldman for three months and Clevenger is the minors.
  2. @AndrewRickli: Welcome to #Birdland @ErvinSantana_54 The plot thickens!
  3. Anybody know if/when the Orioles will be selling Opening Day tickets through their box office? I vaguely remember them not selling any last year.
  4. We won 93 games this year. 93 'one game playoffs' if you will. I am just as anxious as the next guy about tonight, but let's remember, this is just one game and the Orioles won 93 this year, so there is no reason for us to think that we can't do it again tonight. At the end of the day, baseball is the same game these guys have been playing their whole lives, just a bit more pressure and on a bigger stage, but still the same game all of the O's have played since they were kids. Have some faith.
  5. The key for me is 'never too high, never too low'. It is easy to get high on the O's after they take 4 of 6 on the road from TB and NYY, then come home and win the first two vs Seattle at home, with a crazy extra inning win included. However, then the O's lose a few and it feels like reality (whatever it may be) is settling back in. I think that is why this season has been fun for me. Not knowing what the Oriole's reality truly is and all of us waiting for the reality to become negative, but the O's winning keeps it positive. It will take a few quality above .500 seasons in a row to change th
  6. Agreed. We let the Angels have him during his prime, not that it would have made a big difference in our W-L. This time I think he would make a big difference. Impact bat, who could play 140 games and stay healthy with the depth of our bench.
  7. New updated article on mlbtraderumors.com on vladi and manny. would LOVE this move...we regretted not signing him last year, let's take a shot this year. 'Manny Ramirez and Vladimir Guerrero may not be on our free agent list much longer. Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes hears from various sources that both players are moving toward deals (link in Spanish). One source tells Rojas that Ramirez is likely to sign by the beginning of next week. The Angels, Twins, Rangers, Rays and Blue Jays have shown some interest in Ramirez, but Minnesota just added Jim Thome and is no longer interested. The Ange
  8. So I don't know too much about high school/college baseball, and I will just go ahead and assume that we will finish with the worst record in baseball this year...If this is the case, are there any huge phenoms that we would have the chance to draft at the #1 spot? No Bryce Harper-esque players I assume.
  9. does anybody know what time they are supposed to post the video?
