I think he could be a Max Kepler clone. -
2020 1st Round: Heston Kjerstad, OF

Did Elias think he was drafting Keston Hiura? -
The strategic objective to draft ahead of the Marlins.

Anyone can get injured. Espinoza had young Pedro Martinez stuff, but unfortunately has had a Hunter Harvey career so far. Cashner was bad last year with a 5.29 ERA and 1.58 WHIP (so no trade value). Elias did a good job selling high and getting two high upside lottery tickets. I trust that his staff knows these kids very well and think they have very high upside.

I haven't had time to look through every pick. Who are the possible overslot guys?
-
I'm really pulling for this kid. He's had such a tough start to his career. I just hope he can eventually make it to the majors and be a dependable reliever for many years.

We didn't get an elite young talent (someone like Moncada, Eloy Jimenez), so I think our prospect haul was a C+. However, due to the large number of players we acquired you have to think a few turn into All-Star players. The international bonus money was huge, especially since it's so refreshing that the philosophy is changing. You know that it must have been painful for Duquette to trade so much bonus pool money over the past years. Additionally, we are almost guaranteed to have a top pick in the next two drafts, so hopefully, we can get lucky like the Nats and draft our Strasburg and Harper. Overall, I would give a B+.

A very solid return with two high upside guys and one possible 5th starter. What makes this trade outstanding is that it's clear Angelos isn't calling the shots anymore, and we weakened a rival's farm system. We will probably get the #1 pick next year and a top 5 pick next year to add superstar potential players. If you are going to rebuild this is how you do it.
-
Yes, but long-term it's a good strategy if we deplete their minor league system.
-
I want us to deal Britton to the Astros or Yankees. Both have very good minor league systems, and trading with the Yankees for a quality prospect or two weakens them long-term.

MLB already has the new guys ranked http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2018?list=bal

Regarding Verdugo, he has a great eye and gets consistent contact, but the concern about the lack of power is a real concern. Take a look at Christian Walker's numbers jumped from 2016 to 2017 when he played in the PCL http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=572233#/career/R/hitting/2018/ALL

It would be fitting if we trade with Philly. Then the O's can start their own #trusttheprocess rebuild.
