  1. I always wondered specifically with pitchers with location problems. If they took away all pitches except the fastball and not till they could throw the fastball repeatedly for a strike if that approach would work. I know the Mariners had a program like that in place for all pitchers at rookie up to high a ball. I wonder if they see results from that?
  2. So everyone hate me now lol.... Because of my birthday being in December 1979 not till the 2004 team did multiple people but the first I think was Jose Bautista but John Maine Denny Bautista Eddy Rodriguez and Dcab all came up that year and were younger than me.
  3. Do I have to keep posting the same stuff again?
  4. No Bell was a prospect who we were trying to see what we had. Sometimes they struggle and in 2010 we were not going anywhere. Garret Atkins was a reclamation project they tried and failed again the year was 2010. I liked Lugo. Pie see Lugo. Chavez was one I thought never belonged but he was relegated. Now I don't want you to attack my reasoning for not hating most of these and try to construe an argument out of that. Here are the facts. Pearce has out hit Parmelee last year and is out hitting him this year. Pearce is just as good at defense as Parmelee. A few other back ups have out hit Parmelee so far on the season yet he keeps getting starts. It is annoying to see him in the line up. He has about 1000 at bats in the majors with a 700 ops. He does not belong starting at first base. Specifically if you have playoff hopes, now if Hardy was hitting well and/or Wieters was mashing and left field has not been a hole then we could talk. There is to many holes in the line up to have a weak hitting first base.
  5. I would just like to add, Parmelee is a bum. Not sense Fahey have I despised someone starting in the line up so much. He does not deserve to start over some of the guys we have. Not have I heard so much about picking at first base since Mark Reynolds. Pearce can field just as well over at first base and has a better bat plus has hit better in the past few months. Stats past 30 days Avg OBP Slg OPS Pearce .314 .351 .543 .894 Parm's last 30 days... .183 .197 .317 .513
  6. Go to fangraphs. Stats. Teams. Al then pick a position. You will see where we rank with offense and defense. If you hit the Offense overall you will see the ranking without the defense included.
  7. Yes because OPS is the end all be all of offense and that is just right field...... Your other numbers are off as well overall. # Team G PA HR R RBI SB BB% K% ISO BABIP AVG OBP SLG wOBA wRC+ BsR Off Def WAR1 Mariners 250 863 34 91 91 6 8.8 % 24.8 % .193 .330 .270 .336 .464 .346 126 -2.6 22.3 -24.7 2.82 Tigers 86 360 25 57 59 2 7.2 % 26.4 % .277 .333 .289 .347 .565 .389 150 -1.3 19.0 4.3 3.83 Astros 92 371 15 50 37 16 11.9 % 28.3 % .191 .347 .266 .359 .456 .358 131 4.5 17.4 -3.6 2.84 Blue Jays 151 532 18 76 80 6 14.8 % 17.9 % .183 .266 .243 .360 .426 .345 119 3.2 14.5 -9.9 2.45 Athletics 93 361 11 44 54 3 8.6 % 11.6 % .156 .286 .275 .336 .431 .336 118 4.0 11.3 -4.0 2.16 Rays 148 514 18 62 51 19 9.3 % 27.4 % .170 .293 .230 .323 .400 .321 110 2.7 8.5 0.7 2.87 Indians 93 358 15 37 52 0 9.2 % 27.7 % .207 .284 .232 .307 .439 .323 109 1.3 4.9 -6.1 1.18 Twins 135 538 18 68 70 8 5.9 % 19.0 % .167 .301 .267 .312 .434 .323 106 1.3 4.9 -3.1 2.19 Angels 90 373 10 37 47 4 7.2 % 21.2 % .139 .317 .266 .323 .405 .319 109 1.2 4.9 2.7 2.110 Yankees 199 628 22 62 71 3 6.1 % 19.9 % .181 .282 .250 .299 .430 .317 99 -0.4 -1.0 -13.4 0.611 Royals 125 423 5 51 36 19 3.3 % 16.5 % .117 .290 .249 .285 .365 .285 79 5.8 -4.1 7.0 1.812 Rangers 126 488 17 54 53 2 10.0 % 27.7 % .178 .271 .217 .305 .395 .309 91 -1.1 -5.9 -7.2 0.313 White Sox 122 398 7 37 38 8 5.5 % 20.4 % .093 .332 .274 .323 .367 .306 91 -4.9 -8.9 -15.6 -1.314 Orioles 186 630 14 75 54 3 6.0 % 23.7 % .133 .311 .249 .300 .382 .298 87 -1.2 -10.3 -7.1 0.315 Red Sox 149 434 7 41 40 9 7.6 % 20.5 % .105 .269 .223 .292 .328 .277 70 0.8 -13.6 -1.3 -0.1
  8. Well you are assuming left field isn't a hole this year which it is we are 13 out of 15 in the AL in offensive categories. SS is the same hitting wise for the year. Right field we rank 14 out of 15. First we rank 8 out of 15. So coupled with the holes we have this year and the players that have been moved around to correct those numbers this year but are losing I'd say we have some major holes to fill.
  9. See that is the scout coming out in you. Are you trying to say scouts never misjudge guys? Because if they never do then signing more guys makes no sense. If scouts do make mistakes and you see projection with in that player then drafting more guys on a yearly basis makes sense.
  10. So I should go by how many players we signed. Let me see if that number is still greater under DD.
  11. Is it or has it been because we have traded away pieces that would make us more of a mid tier because of contention?
  12. Just by looking at this http://baltimore.orioles.mlb.com/team/draft.jsp?c_id=bal&year=2013 in 2011 we had 26 unsigned draft picks. In 2013 we had 9. In 2014 we had 8. In 2012 we had 10. In 2009 we had 25 unsigned. In 2008 15 unsigned. In 2007 12 unsigned.
  13. Yes I will have to do some digging for you when I am not at work. Steve Masn said last year was the most we have signed under anyone.
  14. Point remains we never really use to sign as many picks which help filters through the farm system. So whoever pulls the trigger they are doing it more so under Duquette then previous regimes.
  15. He signs all of his top 20 picks in the draft plus more... That never really use to happen.
  16. Right? Nolan/Snider is a better option then Hoes. At least they have more of a Major league record of accomplishment. Edit: I wonder what Jon Knott is up to these days? Or Jr house....

    Manny!!!!

1.4 defensive war is not violently by any stretch. Ok fangraphs says differently but so does Jim Palmer and Ripken saying he needed time to adjust the first couple of years. If Manny stays healthy for 4 more years and puts up the numbers he should by the end of year then yes he will be better then Jones. If he gets hurt and misses significant time then I will refute you. As for Moose he needs time to prove. Moose is fringe Hall worthy he needs to put up good stats over a long period of time not close to that yet.

    Manny!!!!

Moose, but we had Adam Jones young as well. Ripken was not lights out defender when he first played ss either quite the opposite.
  19. Roch would never buy it... He knows his roster cards aren't colorful........
  20. Maybe they can get LJ and Josh Hader.

    OPS, by position

Then add in Defense and I am fine. Moving from Cabrera back to Hardy showed me how much defense matters and I forgot how having the Luis Hernandez's and Brandon Fahey's made me feel..... But yes it should improve. Hardy use to be a very good inside pitch hitter and I have not seen him turn and pull like he use to on the inside pitch.
