  1. It pains me to remember this stuff. I'm really looking forward to moving on from Duquette.
  2. Why is that? I haven't been following the situation that closely since the season started. I just assumed Duq was as good as gone after this season. Please fill me in compadre.
  3. Maybe negative value. I love how some here have a trading approach like they're making a Po' Boy sandwich... throw together whatever scraps you have lying around and it equals a delicious complete meal. I'm not being critical. I actually like it because it makes me laugh almost every time.
  4. I hope it's not us. Career OPS+ 100 and his pitch calling is debatable as an attribute or flaw.
  5. There's a lot of talent on that list that shouldn't be lightly thrown around.
  6. Should but all you know you have right now is an all-glove 2Bman with power. I'm afraid he's always going to be a low contact hitter that looks overmatched. I also will never understand all of the Flaherty hate.
  7. Exactly. I'm sorry but I am not a fan of Kelly Johnson.
  8. Aren't you ready to commit everyone who agrees with the opening post to an insane asylum? You've said on more than one occasion that Manny to SS is just fantasy baseball or just video game managing. Still feel that way?
  9. I think it's (OP) a great idea and I've suggested it before. I'm just waiting for Dr. Gordo to chime in with his expert medical knowledge and tell us it is physically impossible for Manny to play SS.
  10. Certainly true. I'd be curious what the results of a poll would be asking who would trade our 25 guys for theirs. I... Like our guys but damn it's close. That team is oozing talent. They're possibly more balanced than us as well.
  11. It makes me cringe reading this. Gone are the AM days when every trade was a clear win. What's not to love about Miller? Nothing except his contract status.
  12. Thanks for the response. His career OPS against righties is .866 in 1445 PA's. Below the 900+ but it almost doesn't matter when we're talking about numbers that high. You pointed out some big names that he's had some success against but that 0-30 something is a drop in the bucket. If there's an imaginary line that defines a player just barely being worth a roster spot in a pennant race and and a player not being worth it, for me, he's crossed over into negative territory a long time ago. Maybe it's a good thing I have no real say in the matter.
  13. Drungo, I've been meaning to respond to this post for a while. I'll say first that I greatly admire what you bring to the board and I've learned a lot from you. You're certainly my favorite poster. That being said, it seems you're often critical of players that can only do one thing well, especially when the player is making more than they're worth. Please help me understand why you've seemed to switch that attitude with Matusz. Why shouldn't we look at his career splits as clear evidence that an upgrade is warranted? Thanks.
