  1. OFFNY literally stated that he did not want a fight; the opposite of what you seem to be driving at. And speaking of fights, what a slugfest we have here in the AL East. I certainly think that Upton as some kind of insurance for our outfield, and Cashner as an upgrade to Jimenez, would help us out. I don't know that it does enough to help, but I'd prefer it over what we have.
  2. Bastard is not an obscenity. Just as one might call someone else a "magnificent bastard" as a compliment, OFFNY's use turns the original insult/epithet on its head for comedic effect. In any case, the literal definition does not classify it as obscene.
  3. I'd be okay with DD moving on. I think Buck would like to be a GM, so let him slide in there and pick his replacement. Just make sure the Nats pay.
  4. This reads like: Sir Loin was right= "Guess you aren't a liar after all." Sir Loin was wrong= "Nanny nanny boo boo, stick your head in doo-doo!"
  5. Hola! I hear tell there is a Chrome extension that makes your IP seem like it is from overseas, and then you can use the MLB TV package even in-market. I hear tell it was a way to work around not having TBS during the playoffs. Anyway, just wanted to say Hola...
  6. Woah, Woah, Woah...slow your roll. When has webbrick ever been hyperbolic? Next you'll be accusing him of constant negative comments and a sky-is-falling outlook.
  7. I've seen a couple of folks in this thread comment that a lot of posters defend the organization for this "bad trade," but really, it's not defending the organization; rather, they are defending the worthiness of the trade based on the the measure and performance of the players at the time. That may be a nuanced distinction, but it's the difference between simply being a homer and being an informed baseball fan. The trade seemed right at the time.

  9. MSK, you aren't crazy; you just happen to be a sky-is-falling kind of fellow. There's nothing wrong with that, but over the years, it has become clear you are more of a pessimist. Again, that is fine. I think in large part that posters are responding to the historical context of your posts. You have a history of these kinds of worried/pessimistic posts. It makes sense that people respond to you in this way. My own problem with constant negative posts is that pessimistic posts are the easiest to make. If you are right, then you get to back yourself on the back and crow; if you are wrong, you get to enjoy the pleasure of winning Orioles baseball. Aside, from people saying you are "crazy," there is no real downside.
  10. I'd prefer promote Dan, give Showalter the GM position (because I think he'll get one in the next 5 years) and have Buck hire a manager (because I have faith in his judgement).
  11. Seeing as how Manny's name is said, it would sound like "The Chahhd."
