  1. With a prospect like that, I say the Nats welcome him with open arms. If anything, signing Strasburg helped them big time.
  2. Yes. If he doesn't sign this year, he'll be desperate enough to accept a "lighter" deal. Therefore the chances of us having to pay less are greater. I'd like to think he won't want to sit out another year without millions being deposited into his bank account.
  3. Either this kid is using Sammy's corked bat or his fly balls naturally travel 405 feet
  4. his videos look pretty promising, he has good velocity and movement on his fastball.
  5. Good point. Unfortunately I can't. Lets cross our fingers and hope we can avoid that catastrophe.
  6. First Pitch: June 7th, 2009 4:05 ET Per Roch Adam Jones - CF Nolan Reimold - LF Nick Markakis - RF Luke Scott - DH Melvin Mora - 3B Oscar Salazar - 1B Matt Wieters - C Ty Wigginton - 2B Robert Andino - SS Rich Hill - LHP Salazar is wearing No. 26. I'm told that Felix Pie is feeling fine after being struck in the throat by a foul ball last night. For the A's: Cabrera - SS Kennedy - 2B Cust - RF Holliday - LF Giambi - DH Suzuki - C Crosby - 1B Davis - CF Petit - 3B Mazzaro - RHP
  7. I don't know what the hype is all about. 1)The guy is old (33) 2)Will have a 4.00ERA+ in a hitter friendly ballpark* 3)His fastball barely hits 89mph! 4)He is no Maddux or Matsuzaka *track record shows that pitchers with low mileage on the fastball have higher ERA's in smaller ballparks. I say pass, and give the young prospects a shot.
  8. Just a hunch, but IMO the news about us being out of the Tex sweepstakes is made to make other teams believe we're out. In reality we're very much involved. I know im not the first to say and am not an insider with credible sources but at the end of the day my feeling is strong about landing the first base stud.
