  1. "Drug of abuse" can mean a lot of things besides your conventional pot, coke, heroin, etc. I don't want to speculate on what the guy was going through but I can understand him looking for an escape from everything.
  2. I look sweet but believe me, I've got a mouth like a sailor. My parents/family don't know, but you better believe my friends and boyfriend have heard it plenty of times.
  3. I'M EMPLOOOYED! It's a miracle.
  4. We gotta play 'em one day at a time. I'm just happy to be here. Hope I can help the ball club. I just want to give it my best shot, and the good lord willing, things will work out.
  5. I live in an apartment but I go by the same temperatures my parents keep the house at. Air conditioning at 78 (76 at night) and heat at 70 (I do 68 at night but I think they do 63).
  6. Guilty as charged. *hangs head in shame*
  7. This quiz should probably be used as an admissions test for online forums, since homophones seem to be a BIG issue. http://www.sporcle.com/games/koopa08/ill-name-1-you-name-the-rest
  8. I hate the misuse of the word "literally". My best friend does it a lot, i.e. "it literally blew my mind". Really? So your head has exploded? Impressive that you're still standing.
  9. Wow, looks like I have a lot of reading left to do. Well almost all the baseball books I've read have long since been listed in this thread...a former teacher of mine bought me Bottom of the 33rd, so that's next on my reading list. I also have Glory in the Fall: The Greatest Moments in World Series History, which I only read part of, and The Baseball Codes, which is one of those books about the "unwritten rules" of baseball.
  10. And those are the rules everyone should follow. Otherwise, posts here devolve into what's basically cyberbullying, which a bunch of grown men don't need to be engaging in.
  11. Those are Nancy Grace's favorite stories. Her only stories, in fact. And she's the one who made this case as public as it was. I agree with Can_of_corn as well...if this didn't involve the death of a pretty little white girl, no one would have noticed or cared.
  12. Jeez, was EVERYONE at the game tonight? I was there too.
  13. Ugh, she tweets like a teenager. I can't believe this woman is a professional.
  14. I originally didn't realize he was married, so when I first heard about "Weinergate" I thought it was pretty stupid that anyone was making a fuss out of it. BFD, he tweeted a pic to a girl. If she didn't like it, then she can delete it, block him on Twitter, and move on with life. But then I found out he was married. So while I wouldn't be calling for him to resign, it still does count as cheating and I'm certainly not pleased with it.
