  1. Luke I’m curious what your thoughts are on Hunter Bishop do you think we might consider him?
  2. I’m a big fan of Bobby Witt Jr and he’s been the guy I’ve wanted the O’s to take 1-1 but the more and more I hear, read and see about Rutschman makes me really like and want the kid. He’s impressive not just his play on the field but his character off it. He almost seems to good to be true which is kinda scary. Im sure some of already seen this but for those that haven’t here’s a video I really liked on him. While he’s grown on me I’m still not going to jump off the bridge if we don’t take him. I’d also be happy with Witt, Vaughn, CJ Abrams it Hunter Bishop. Hunter Bishop has climbed up the draft ladder with an amazing 2019 he’s very intriguing and could be had for under slot allowing us to sign someone else later.
  3. I was very encouraged with what I saw from Bundy today especially inducing the ground ball. Without looking at his previous stats I don’t think that’s been a strength of his.
  4. So whose going to be available after July 2nd we should be looking at? I just hope it’s not all a bunch of guys nobody’s heard of and that we at least get one or two that are highly rated.
  5. I’m know great evaluator of talent and am not qualified enough to determine where he is ready or what further development is needed but before he was promoted last year he had a pretty horrendous stat line at Norfolk batting only .235/.329/. 387 with 12hr’s 103k’s in 421 at bats imo based off those numbers he wasn’t deserving of getting called up. So far this year his numbers are trending up wards .291/.404/.575 8hr 22k in 127 at bats those numbers are really benefiting from a great May. I think he would benefit staying In Norfolk and building on this small sample size of success he’s having because before this year he has yet to show he can consistently put up good numbers at the plate above dbl AA and I’m afraid if he comes up now he’s not going to play everyday which would only hurt him at least in Norfolk he’s getting everyday at bats. I’m not sure but I think he might be overmatched in the big leagues right now because outside of one good month he hasn’t shown anything that would suggest otherwise and I don’t think one good month is worthy of a promotion to the show. So I say let’s let him continue to hone his skills and work on whatever it is the club has him working on and maybe July if he’s hitting the cover off the ball and he’s showing he’s no longer being challenged in AAA then I’d bring him up but like I said I wouldn’t do it now based off one good month. At the end of the day I trust Elias, Sig and the rest of the staff have a plan and/or process that they will follow and I’m quite okay with putting my faith/trust in them and I’m just going to enjoy watching it all play out.
  6. As much as I’d like to see those three playing for the O’s right now I don’t think it’s the time. Those guys can still benefit from getting everyday playing time and at bats in Norfolk. Let’s not rush to promote prospects because players on the big league club are underachieving. I’d much rather see a consistent high level of production from our prospects to the point where it doesn’t look like they are no longer being challenged at the AAA level. Then at that point promote them because they have more than earned it and the front office no longer believes AAA serves a purpose for them any longer. I’d like for these guys to be fully developed so that win they get here they stick. If that means more loses this year so be it.

    Dean Kremer 2019

If Kremer continues to dominate as he moves up through the Minors how soon do you think it’ll be before we see him with the Orioles?
  8. I don’t think it would be dumb not to take but instead that it wouldn’t be dumb if we did take him over Adley. I tell ya must if not all the scouting right ups I see online were written before he started playing ball this year. I’d be curious to see some more up to date reports that are more recent taking into consideration his senior year. I can’t seem to find it but I’d read it might of been on Twitter that one area of concern was swing and miss and that he had done less of that this year. Regardless I think he would be a great pic for us and so would Adley personally I’m a fan of Witts and would like to see us take him but sure as heck would not be disappointed with Adley
  9. I’ll try and find the article but it didn’t say he currently had a plus hit tool but instead it was a 45 and this was months ago but that if he continued to hit like he was those concerns would be alleviated leading to a plus hit tool and he’s done nothing but rake this year and has cut back on his swing and misses.
  10. I’ve never seen that listed anywhere everything I’ve read says he has a plus hit tool. Do you have a link to a scouting report that supports that his hit tool is questionable?
  11. When the development is all said and done who do you project to be the better player and would say is most likely be in the hof one day?
  12. This from an article on Mlb.com. The younger Witt is a shortstop, described by Baseball America as a five-tool talent with plus skills both offensively and defensively.
  13. Doesn’t history suggest that high school short stops drafted high in the first round go on to have better major league careers than catchers? Do we think Adley is going to change that Narrative? I mean Bobby Witt JR has been pretty darn impressive and he has a good bloodline/pedigree plays position that allows for him to play everyday if healthy is also a 5 tool player with all the intangibles. Does history suggest it’s more or less of a gamble to take the high school ss or college catcher?
  14. That’s one and sure if we look hard enough you might find somebody else but I think it’s fair to say the odds are quite a bit less favorable when it comes catchers.
  15. I have a tough time getting excited about a drafting a catcher high in the draft let alone 1-1. I mean what do they play 120 games? The position itself isn’t exactly known for producing true difference makers that justify a 1-1 selection. When I think of drafting a guy 1-1 I want that guy to hopefully one day be in the conversation as being the best to ever play the game. When has a catcher ever been in that conversation? I’m not talking best player of all time but in his generation or just the league for the year? Has there ever?
  16. Roch just replied to me on Twitter confirming Knight is starting for the Keys tonight!
  17. I imagine Peralta will be next.
  18. That’s awesome. Is he pitching tonight?
  19. I was was curious to know how Rutchmans high school stars compared to Witts. They are listed below Adley’s on top Witts below. Games Played 53 Batting Totals Batting Average .405 Plate Appearances 191 At Bats 148 Runs 50 Hits 60 Runs Batted In 36 Doubles 13 Triples 1 Home Runs 2 Sacrifice Fly 2 Sacrifice Bunt 2 Base on Balls 35 Strike Outs 15 Hit by Pitch 4 Reached on Error 8 Fielders Choice 2 Left on Base 5 On Base Percentage .524 Slugging Percentage .547 On Base Plus Slugging Percentage 1.071 Games Played 45 Batting Totals Batting Average .521 Plate Appearances 171 At Bats 144 Runs 74 Hits 75 Runs Batted In 60 Doubles 17 Triples 9 Home Runs 16 Sacrifice Fly 2 Sacrifice Bunt 0 Base on Balls 24 Strike Outs 12 Hit by Pitch 1 Reached on Error 4 Fielders Choice 5 Left on Base 54 On Base Percentage .585 Slugging Percentage 1.097 On Base Plus Slugging Percentage 1.682 Im not sure how much weight it carries or any but Witt sure had the much better High School career and I’m sure some will use his age of being older then peers as an excuse but the high school numbers aren’t even close. Witt head and shoulders above.
  20. Lol duh. But did ones numbers improve that much or fall off some? I’m guessing that after starting off slow in College the back 2 back great two years following is slow start helped bumped him up over Witt. Is that it? Because based off Witts numbers he sure has heck hasn’t done anything to hurt his stock just like Rutchmans Witts numbers this year only help him. I just don’t see why Adley leap frogs Witt and now becomes the consensous no brainer have to take him number 1 or the world is going to end pick.
  21. Is a DH all that he is or is it just an injury preventing him from playing the field? When healthy how’s his defense/arm at third? Obviously if he gets healthy and is able to play avg defense that will increase his value but even if that’s the case I don’t expect him to bring a big return probably just a mid tier prospect which he more than likely brings back with out a position. You think?
  22. The one scenario where I could see us dfa/trade Núñez is if Mountcastle continues to rake at Norfolk and shows that he’s no longer being challenged in aaa. Then Núñez goes which frees up a roster spot and playing time for Mountcastle.
