  2. I see your Batman and raise you a Spiderman. <object style="height: 344px; width: 425px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKIbSAmCYGo?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKIbSAmCYGo?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></object>
  3. Does switching to Boras automatically make Werth more of a premium free agent?
  4. If that was the case Dunn would have agreed to DH and signed with an American league club the last time he was a free agent. I imagine the market for him as a DH is a lot healthier then as an OF/1B.
  5. I am really looking forward to the Yankees signing a visibly declining Jeter to a very bad contract this off season.
  6. It is never too early with an expanded roster.
  7. Koji has pitched three days in a row, I would go with Gonzo.
  8. Yes, I am not sure how that brain fart happened but yes, the non-communist one.
  9. <object style="height: 344px; width: 425px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR6D06c5uIQ?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tR6D06c5uIQ?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></object> Marmalade. I like Marmalade
  10. Or it could be that he wants Choo to sign an extension before he gets drafted into the North Korean Army. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/top-posts/shin-soo-choo-hoping-to-avoid-military-service-by-playing-for-south-korea-in-asian-games.php
  11. Best episode of Jake and the Fat Man ever. What is Jake's pitch count at?
  12. If his bat is as projected I could live with scenario 3, at least for the first six/seven years in the majors. Of course it would depend on what other options the O's have at SS and 3rd.
  13. Considering the winners from last season, I think the BBWAA is improving in this regard. Felix may not win, but I am sure he will garner more votes then he would have say 10 years ago.
  14. It is not just money however, it is also knowledge and desire. You can cook yourself a nutritious meal for what Chinese delivery costs.
  15. Some are, to a degree. From what I have read the pre and post game spreads are historically provided with monies gathered from the players. Less money equals inexpensive and unhealthy choices. Some teams have taken over the pre and post game spreads and are furnishing healthier choices. Now this isn't going to make a difference on the road but the players should be able to get a couple healthy meals a day at home out of the spreads. I would think a team nutritionist would be overkill, a roving nutritionist that covers all the minor league teams sounds like a workable idea that shouldn't be cost prohibitive.
  16. There was this, and the comments he made a few weeks ago about the female fans behind home plate. There is also a general consensus that he was not a good announcer.
  17. <object style="height: 344px; width: 425px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tEKXyfujYI?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tEKXyfujYI?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="425" height="344"></object>
  18. How much would scoring increase if the offense was allowed four outs per inning instead of three? I have no desire to try and hunt up the exact numbers but I am sure that a team has a lot higher chance of scoring in an inning if the inning starts off with a baserunner on first instead of an out.
  19. The BP list for 2009 had O's at #1, #16 and #19. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=8506 Thats not two in the top 15 but I wouldn't be suprised if some list had Tillman or Matusz rated a bit higher then BP did.
  20. Machado will get a lot of votes for #1 and will not drop below #2.
  21. Considering the variance I have seen from one MLB park to another, yes I am skeptical of minor league radar gun results.
  22. He might, and its a gamble I would take if I was the Reds.
  23. His slider was sitting at around 91. He is due to be called up when rosters expand, I think I will wait untill I see what he does with a real gun on him. 105 or not he is still a work in progress, he needs to refine his command if he is going to make an impact at the major league level.
