  1. I think if Tex signs tommorrow we find out 2 things 1. Orioles are not as interested in Tex as we believe they are. 2. Tex is more interested in going to Boston than people think I agree with the Sox fans post. I think Boras leaked the Nats upping there offer to get Boston hit their number and done deal.
  2. Last night before the news of boston dropping out I thought everyone was too down at that point. Now after the news I think alot of people may be way too optimistic. I am still not convinced PA is ready to step up and make the kind of offer needed to land Tex. I know there have been reports that Tex prefers the east coast. But the Angels are the one team that does scare me in this. Especially after reading Torii Hunter's quote last night AFTER news broke the Red Sox were out. "What the Angels did was spectacular, they gave him an offer that blew everyone away, and it shows how badly they want this guy," Hunter said. "I'm so happy they did that. I can sleep better at night. We can't let Tex go. He's very special on this team." Maybe he knows something about the Angels offer we don't??? I do believe that Tex wants to play on the East Coast, but I also believe that for the right price he could go back to the Angels. I just hope this ends soon I can't take much more of this...
  3. Red Sox owner John Henry wrote Thursday that he doesn't expect the team to "be a factor" in the final bidding for Mark Teixeira. "We met with Mr. Teixeira and were very much impressed with him," Henry said. "After hearing about his other offers, however, it seems clear that we are not going to be a factor." Negotiating ploy or the end of Boston's flirtation? We're guessing agent Scott Boras was still presenting the Red Sox with some unrealistic expectations during the face-to-face negotiations Thursday. It's pretty clear that the Red Sox won't go beyond eight years in a deal for the first baseman. Just posted on rotoworld.
  4. This is my first post on the board. I originally just signed up so I could read all of the Teixeira post for past few days. But after reading everyones doom and gloom for past couple of hours, I finally couldn't resist posting any longer. Now I am not saying I believe Teixeira is signing here. However, I do not believe it is a done deal either. I mean honestly do you think Tex told Boston he was close to picking them and the boston just said "Hey while don't we fly out to you." There is obviously a reason the Boston FO thought it was necessary to fly to Texas to meet face to face. Again I am not saying I think he signs here. But I do believe there is just as much chance that Tex told the sox he was leaning another way and they decided to go and convince him otherwise in person.
