  1. You got this Chris! Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  2. Booom goes Wieters!!! Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  3. First and foremost, Adam Jones is a great Oriole. He represents the team with a tremendous amount of pride. He cares about winning, he cares about his teammates. That to me matters more than if his production is down .227% over the last 4.5 months. The man will be in the Orioles Hall of Fame someday. That's a pretty nice accomplishment. It may be just me but it seems like people are just waiting for anyone to sniff the age of 30 (I know Jones is older) to begin talking about decline and lack of production. It's kind of funny actually. It's a totally different topic but one can be pro
  4. American Movie. Highly recommended. It's laugh out loud funny and sad too. The best scriptwriter in Hollywood wouldn't have been able to come up with a script like that. Pretty sure it won Sundance several years ago. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  5. Same old people, they know who they are. I see their posts time and time again. O's might be behind in a game and its like clockwork in a game thread. Predictable stuff from a few very predictable folks. We should be happy about a division race!!! Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  6. I'm in the Orlando area and try to catch an O's game when they play in Tampa once during the year. Not this time. Stuck doing taxes for an extension I filed. Ugh. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  7. Wieters comes through with a clutch HR. That was big. He's had some huge at bats this year. He isn't having the season he'd like overall but I just laugh at this 3 yr - $20 million dollar contract stuff.
  8. That's not going to happen. You really think Scott Boras is going to be OK with a 3 yr/20 million dollar contract for Wieters? You really think that's his value? Think 4/44 - 4/48 minimum.
  9. That throw by Matt literally sucked the life and hope out of the Rangers. Huge!
  10. Buck sent Brach in right when he should have. He's been nothing but solid all year. Just an off night. It happens.
  11. Ughhh...this kid doesn't sound like any just any regular 18-year-old. BA has him the 15th best prospect in all the minors! Steep price I'd say.
  12. Totally agree. Norris was cheap (3 million in 2013) and was signed thru 2015. You have to give up a prospect for pitching, even moreso for a pitcher with a reasonable salary and a couple years of control. He had a very solid season for us too in 2014. No one here can predict with absolute certainty which prospect is going to succeed or fail. Kudos to Duquette's scouting department for even drafting Hader (19th round) in their first draft back in 2012. If you find the assets you're entitled to use them.
  13. I would tend to agree. But wow...I can't imagine under too many scenarios where I see Matt coming back next year. They really could use this kid as a young, talented, cost-controlled asset over the next 5-6 years.
  14. Seeing as how he has performed this year and gotten some HUGE hits at pretty opportune moments...I don't think Buck or the FO would agree with that assessment. As it turned out we're pretty fortunate it's worked out the way it has.
  15. Scott Boras won't be. Last year he had to accept that QO. 2017 will be an entirely different issue.
  16. Uhhh...here's the more realistic answer. If Wieters keeps on the same pace or even remotely close to it....dude will get paid. A one-year QO will be a joke compared to what he lands.
  17. Dude's shoulders might be a little tired from carrying us early in the season.
  18. True, but we have a pretty darn good team to get back in this from 4-1.
  19. Good point. I was posting on my phone but will do. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
  20. Aren't you the charming one! Being an Orioles fan since 1968 qualifies me as a lot of things...lol, but shortsighted is not one of them. I've seen a lot of baseball in my life. Every team that has a goal of winning a championship of any kind has hard decisions to make especially the closer they get to that goal. Generally speaking there's always some kind of window of contention. Every move the Orioles have made has been done with the intention of winning now. I have no problem with that. In fact it's been refreshing. For a great number of years (before Duquette and to some extent AM) t
  21. IMO, I don't think that would get it done. Too many question marks about Bundy and Harvey. It'd be a decent haul for Atlanta if both guys come around but thats quite the IF. I really don't want to see the FO trading Sisco seeing that this will probably be Matt's last year with the O's, but to get someone like Teheran I'd say yeah...I just dont think we have the right pieces. 22. Absolutely. I just have to laugh though when folks insinuate they know better than the GM or they don't trust him to make a trade. I think most of these moves have made sense if you look at them objectively.
  23. Maybe the Red Sox are more mediocre. Two series wins now, and we're without O'Day, Hardy...and comparatively speaking a #1 pitcher.
