  1. FSU and possibly Clemson leaving the ACC. Can anyone shed any new light on this ? http://floridastate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1364755
  2. Its going to be difficult for the SEC as a conference to claim another national championship. Not sure if LSU can get pass Arkansas not to mention Ok State and Stanford. IMO, Alabama is more complete and up to the task. If they had a kicker who could kick field goals...

  4. Wouldn't the Big East basically do the same thing to the Mountain West Conference by taking Air Force and possibly Boise State? They are the MWC's biggest money makers and by taking them the Big East would also ensure they are screwed when it comes to AQ status.
  5. It will be interesting to see how the Catholic schools proceed. The Big East will still be a good basketball conference, but would there be some consolidation with the A-10?
  6. Agreed. Swofford and the ACC have been very hard to read throughout this whole process and need to make quick work of this and get rid of Big East football. They might have a big opportunity to play ESPN against the relaunched NBC sports Network (Versus) and Fox to really get paid this time. NBC/Versus in particular has a lot of space that can be filled and a desire to also showcase olympic sports. Texas and the LHN would complicate that. As far as Texas, the only thing the ACC should offer is deal like BYU has with the WCC and the WAC (for now).
  7. Greg, from your lips to God's ears. According to the NY Times, Pitt and Syracuse are in talks to join the ACC. If this is true, I am curious how Texas would fit in.
  8. FSU forms a realignment committee. http://www.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/24156338/31958179
  9. I think it would be hard for me to get over not playing Duke, UNC, Virginia, GT and even VT year in and out in basketball. I don't see Big 10 basketball being in the same universe as ACC basketball. I do, however, like the idea of Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan State coming to play us at Byrd. I also think it would take some time to getting used to how expansive the Big 10 is. Most of the ACC is located between Maryland and South Carolina which makes it easier to travel to see the team on the road. I just wish the ACC aligned the football side of the conference and scheduled certain games better to allow natural conference rivalries to grow.
  10. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. Where do we go from here?
  11. I hope he just takes the job and doesn't drag this out forever.
  12. According to Press Box, Shannon might be in the Maryland fold soon... http://www.pressboxonline.com/blog.cfm?id=3165
  13. The post is reporting Randy Shannon is coming in to interview. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/terrapins-insider/2011/02/report_randy_shannon_to_interv.html
  14. Much respect. You called it. I'm finding it hard to believe myself....
