  1. If? I'd certianly hope a pitcher we were paying 80+ million to would be able to out-pitch Tillman and Arrieta!
  2. All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
  3. Btw, Revis is out this week, so no chance Lloyd gets matched up against him!
  4. Heh, I benched Floyd in one of my leagues, too. Thankfully I won (and his replacement, Steve Smith (NYG), did alright). That's a tough one - Lloyd is the #2 WR in standard settings, but going against the Jets (I assume Revis will be on Lloyd?). The Jets actually give up a lot of points to opposing WRs, but with Revis around I expect those numbers to decrease now ... Harvin had a huge game, perhaps aided by Moss's presence? I dunno, I'm not sure I could bench Lloyd. The Ravens aren't the Jets in terms of pass defense ability, but Orton and Lloyd certainly did just fine against them. It wouldn't surprise me if they did the same to the Jets. I'd probably go with Lloyd. Then again, what do I know? For myself, pick three to fill RB, WR, RB/WR slots: Ryan Mathews @STL LT @DEN Ryan Torain vs IND Malcom Floyd @STL Jeremy Maclin vs ATL Steve Smith (NYG) vs DET I'm leaning toward Mathews, LT, and Floyd, though I'm starting to feel like a sucker with Mathews.
  5. Pats are 8-2 coming off of a bye I think? I'll go with that statistic, though I think the Ravens are the better team overall. Pats 27, Ravens 24.
  6. Man, between the Moss > Floyd call and saying Forte was a bum, I feel as though it's necessary for me to say: VTmook213, providing crappy fantasy advice since 2010. Sheesh I think you have to start Brady. Look what Orton just did to the Ravens - the Ravens aren't an elite defense against the pass, Brady can put up points. Charles and Forte. The Giants have played really well defensively the past couple of games and I don't particularly trust Torain yet. Plus, how can you bench Forte after that last game?! Charles got the lion's share of the carries this past week, too ...
  7. I'd go with Fred. Tough call. Floyd has been boom or bust this season, and I worry about a matchup with Asomugha plus the fact that the Raiders are a sieve on the ground - will you see a similar game like last week where the Chargers run the ball and just fling it to Gates? I might go with Moss, I feel like he has less upside but is safer to get you ~8 points overall. Probably depends on how strongly you feel about the rest of your lineup this week and who you're facing.
  8. It's still early so some of this might be flukish, but here are the numbers for points against (as in, RBs against X defense average this many points): IND: 21.3 STL: 13.3 CAR: 16.0 GB: 10.5 I still think you have to start Charles. Then, for me, it would be between Best and Torain. I'd probably take Best, assuming he's healthy, simply because he's going against an easier defense. But I dunno, feel like it's close to a toss-up. edit: While looking at Torain for myself, I noticed that Green Bay actually isn't all that stingy with the run defense. They're giving up 118 yards a game, 24th in the NFL and teams are averaging 5.2 yards a rush which is second worst (to Oakland). So ... apparently they just get into shoot outs with teams that want to throw the ball. I think Washington is at greater risk to fall behind big early and have to throw a lot, while Detroit can probably hang with St Louis. Of course, Washington might also come out wanting to run the ball and keep Rodgers off the field, too ... As for myself ... Pick one WR: Steve Smith (NYG) @ HOU, or Malcom Floyd (SD) @ OAK Pick three RBs: Ray Rice (BAL) vs DEN, Ryan Mathews (SD) @ OAK, LaDainian Tomlinson (NYJ) vs MIN, Ryan Torain (WAS) vs GB I'm leaning Smith, Rice, Mathews, and LT I think ...
  9. Couldn't posting the same things in every thread regardless of the situation, and refusing to acknowledge or consider points to the contrary also be considered trolling? Seems like that's what OldFan always did, too ... Don't get me wrong, I don't want Trea banned and I rather enjoy what ends up happening in threads he posts in (it's entertaining). But I don't see how you're giving Trea a free pass on this one and indicting everyone else.
  10. You don't think the reaction he's gotten is because maybe, just maybe, he's spewing his age old agenda about this too? I mean, c'mon. Saying that AM likes Aramark and wanted to keep them but Buck thought it was a load of crap and went over AM's head to Angelos ... that doesn't sound like something he's said before? Multiple times? About just about everything? You'll have to forgive everyone for being sick of Trea forcing his twisted agenda onto every.single.topic. I mean, really? I'm tired of him spreading unsubstantiated rumors as if they're gospel/fact. Are we really supposed to buy the line that MacPhail supported Aramark, and Buck went to Angelos to convince him this wasn't a good thing? REALLY? Ridiculous. If he has any sort of proof, he can provide it. If he doesn't, then he'll get this sort of reaction for pushing his agenda onto situations like this. That's just how it is. You reap what you sow.
  11. I don't want him to leave. With the recent release of [name removed to protect the guilty], Trea is one of the few remaining sources of entertainment!
  12. This is what I was thinking. They had a ton of draft picks already, what they don't have is another Randy Moss. A co-worker of mine said maybe they will then flip that pick to try and get Vincent Jackson ... which, I dunno, maybe works. But if they just hold pat with the third round pick, I think this is a horrible trade and I'd be pissed if I were a Pats fan.
  13. I'm not a huge fan of Forte after having drafted him very early last year and dealing with him being a complete bum, so take that into account while reading this ... I'd go with Charles, definitely. Indy's defense has been shredded this year by running backs. If Best is healthy, I think you have to take him as well.
  14. Beltre has been a 4.0+ WAR player 3 times in his 12 year career. So can he be a 4.0+ WAR player? Yes. Will he? I don't know. At any rate, the point of the matter is that if you consider Scott's 2010 season to be a fluke and unlikely to be repeated, I'm not sure how you can consider Beltre's to be a lock to be repeated. In fact, Beltre's 2010 was more of a fluke, compared to their career averages, than Scott's.
