  1. Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Orioles maintain interest in trading for Koji Uehara despite their recent acquisitions of Matt Lindstrom and Luis Ayala. The O's bullpen is suddenly quite crowded, but evidently they're not closing the door on making more additions. The reality is that it's probably unlikely to happen, though. We suspect that Uehara will remain with the Rangers or be traded elsewhere. The A's have also shown interest in him. Uehara posted a 2.35 ERA and 85/9 K/BB ratio over 65 innings last season. MLB trade rumors
  2. Im no twitter genius but does TLR stand for Tony La Russa? JoeStrauss Joe Strauss LOL RT @afiny7: @JoeStrauss TLR is taking a job with the O's so he can be closer to CAA basketball action?

  4. Didn't you see we traded for Jai Miller today he jacked 32 last year in his fourth year of AAA! In all seriousness why do you think a cf who hasn't come close to a 30 homer season would be better than 3-4 players that will all be contributors by 2013 if not sooner.
  5. Per rotoworld "According to Peter Gammons of MLB Network and NESN, several general managers think Prince Fielder could get a three-year deal worth $26 million per season, then go back on the market and beat Albert Pujols' average annual salary." I'd say its worth a 3/78 contract solely to get the fans interest back into it. I know other posters will say its a waste of money and hes just going to leave at the end of his contract, well so be it. If were competing in 3 years which I somehow hope we are he could always stay and extend.
  6. Per rotoworld: "According to ESPN's Keith Law, the Athletics have agreed to trade Gio Gonzalez to the Nationals for prospects A.J. Cole, Brad Peacock, Derek Norris and Tommy Milone. It's a massive haul for A's GM Billy Beane. Cole, a 19-year-old right-hander, posted a 108/24 K/BB ratio in 89 innings this past season at the Single-A level. Peacock, a 23-year-old righty, had a 2.39 ERA and 177/47 K/BB ratio in 146 2/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A in 2011. Norris, a 22-year-old catcher, has an .861 career OPS in the minors, and Milone registered a 155/16 K/BB ratio in 148 1/3 innings this past season at Triple-A. Gonzalez is a top-end left-handed starter and should fit nicely into the Nationals' plans to contend quickly, but Oakland is the clear winner in this five-player swap." Man I'd love to get that sort of return for Adam Jones, as each day passes I really think the right move is to trade him and get more talent in the organization. Baseball America came out with their top 10 prospects for the O's and their recent rule-5 addition Ryan Flaherty came in at #7, how much more do you need to know that our farm system is in need of some talent. BA Top 10 1. Dylan Bundy, RHP 2. Manny Machado, SS 3. Jonathon Schoop, MIF 4. Parker Bridwell , RHP 5. L.J. Hoes, OF/2B 6. Nicky Delmonico, 3B/1B 7. Ryan Flaherty, IF/OF 8. Jason Esposito, 3B 9. Xavier Avery, OF 10. Dan Klein, RHP
  7. Orioles signed OF Endy Chavez to a one-year contract. "Terms have not yet been disclosed. It's a nice bargain signing by the O's. The 33-year-old batted .301/.323/.426 with five homers, 27 RBI, 10 stolen bases and a .749 OPS over 274 plate appearances with the Rangers this season while playing solid defense at all three outfield positions. Chavez will back up Nick Markakis, Adam Jones and Nolan Reimold." Britt Ghiroli speculates that Endy Chavez will "likely be" in a platoon with Nolan Reimold in left field.
