We have reopened with a completely social/politics free format. No exemptions. No exceptions.  No questions. This includes me. All posters. Glad we could convince Tony to open our community back to us. I'm glad to see you this morning Philip.

Many of us have been sitting around wearing Orioles hats, swinging bats, and jonesing for O' info to ingest. Thanks!!

Thanks, I’m sharing what I see.  I know there’s stuff that I miss but I’ll never not watch a double play drill if I can.
There are so many smart baseball people down here.  O’s officials including Hyde.  Our posters like Weams and Denise give me another experienced perspective.  Tenured, extremely intelligent media people that talk baseball or write it everyday which is really an honor. At my desk is a guy whose book is in my nightstand for life. That’s just crazy. Doc and his camera.  Also the posters who want details focused on or have different angles than me.
I’m getting an insider’s perspective on my favorite team and I’m giving an insider’s perspective to you guys.  Tony told me to just see and share what’s in front of me so I am.  I’m so glad that it’s going well and the effort is to be an extension of OH’s collective curiosity.

I repeat what Atomic says, thanks a ton. It makes the winter days easier to tolerate.

Gausman and Bundy are tops for me along with Mullins who I hope is called up now.

I also think once the trades are made the club will play a better brand of baseball even with less talent. I think we will see more energy. This trade stuff has been hanging over their heads all year.

I agree with this. Not that we will win more games but I think there will be a renewed energy because the remaining players know the rest of the season is a trial. Those that play well have a chance to be here and the ones that don't will be expendable. Kind of like the year that Buck was hired.

  4. I don't know if anyone breached this idea or not, but it dawned on me that the Angelos family may be more inclined to trade Manny to the Phillies because it would make it more difficult for the Nats. I get the idea that with the MASN dispute etc. there is no love lost between the two franchises.

Here’s how the third inning went for the GCL O’s pitchers today:

    Ground out

    Hit by pitch

    Walk

    Hit by pitch

    Error

    Walk

    Fielders’ choice, runner scores

    Hit by pitch

    Strike out

    No hitter!! LOL

For the last six years, we’ve enjoyed having a good to great bullpen, depending on the season.  That’s a huge reason we always seemed to win more games than the pundits predicted.

This year, the bullpen’s been just awful.   7-18 won/lost record, 11 blown saves in 25 chances (56% save rate), 4.38 ERA.   By pretty much any measure, it’s one of the worst four bullpens in the AL.

Just one more reason this team sucks, and is almost unbearable to watch.    And with O’Day and Bleier out for the year, it could get worse from here.

I missed the last three innings, but like you I remember not long ago a 2 to 1 lead would have been safe.

Agreed.  Pavin Smith would be a big pick up, but of course the Orioles have Davis locked in at first for the next five years.  Devers plus would be great of course, but also seems unrealistic.  The Cubs package seemed reasonable though, as did the Indians.

The Cubs package seems very light to me.
