  1. Good info here. I wasn't aware JJ was hit around again yesterday...yikes: http://touch.baltimoresun.com/#section/-1/gallery/p2p-79808862/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Watching other games from that era on YouTube I don't hear any. I think it's cool hearing the current music at the time between innings and pitching changes during the 79 World Series, while the Pirates were playing boring organ music.
  3. If the Orioles played the White Sox in the playoffs and Tony Larussa got his revenge from 83
  4. This is contingent on the Orioles exercising his option which, despite the tweet's author's optimism, is far from a sure thing.
  5. For Baysox manager Gary Kendall, the key to Orioles prospect Corban Joseph's future may be his ability to play multiple infield positions effectively. https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/05/19/bowie-baysox-gary-kendall-says-orioles-prospect-corban-joseph-could-be-ryan-flaherty-type-player
  6. Orioles adding to their outfield depth today with the signing of former Blue Jays outfielder Michael Saunders. Yes, it was just two years ago that he made the all-star team. https://www.google.com/amp/www.baltimoresun.com/sports/orioles/bs-sp-orioles-saunders-20180402-story,amp.html
  7. I was responding to a post in another thread and it got me thinking. With the uncertainty surrounding Machado, the poor pitching, and having to play in arguably the toughest division in MLB how do most free agents view the Orioles as a landing spot? I have them ranked as the 6th worst destination spot for free agents. Thoughts? Most Unappealing Teams to Free Agents 1) Miami - The team is a mess and even the rostered players don't want to stay. 2) Cincinnati - A perpetually bad team with very little hope of improving anytime soon. 3) Detroit - A team rebuilding in a semi
  8. The draft is one week from today. Here's the latest from the mock drafts. I'll update this thread with the final mock drafts next Monday. I also have video links for each player below courtesy of MLB.com. ESPN: http://www.espn.com/blog/keith-law/insider/post?id=7116 Orioles: Tanner Houck - RHP - Missouri MLB.com: http://m.mlb.com/news/article/233694538/mlb-mock-draft-wright-greene-remain-12/ Orioles: Jake Burger - 3B - Missouri State Minor League Ball community mock draft: http://www.minorleagueball.com/2017/6/3/15735390/2017-min
  9. I'd be a fan of this pick. One of the better players available at #21 and fills a need. 21. Orioles Some scouts compare North Carolina shortstop Logan Warmoth to current Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy, and the two have overall similar profiles. If the Orioles don’t zig and go prep outfielder as some clubs believe, Warmoth makes total sense as a high-floor college performer. Pick: Logan Warmoth, ss, North Carolina | Read more at http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/mock-mlb-draft-3-0-major-league-baseball-draft/#kxWTZc7ER1HirvRC.99
  10. TOP 200 MiLB POWER RANKINGS (thru APRIL 20, 2017) http://www.rosterresource.com/milb-power-rankings-2017/ Roster Resource's Position Player rankings are based on Year-to-Date production using several weighted categories. Aderlin Rodriguez (AA, 25, 1B) 61AB .393/.439/.672 115. Austin Hays (A+, 21, CF) 63AB .349/.379/.556 135. Ryan Meisinger (AA,
  11. Just wanted to point out that Jomar Reyes is quietly batting .520 (13-for-24) through his first six games. Yea I know. Small sample size and all that jazz. Still, an encouraging start from one of the more disappointing prospects from the 2016 season. Lets hope he's ready to break out and that this isn't a flash in the pan.
  12. The HOTSHEET is back. Check out who was hot (and not) among the Orioles Hangout top 30 prospects for the month of April. Baysox left-hander John Means earns the top spot on the list after pitching to a 1.40 ERA over his first five starts: http://www.orioleshangout.com/2017/05/01/orioles-minor-league-prospect-hotsheet-april-edition/
  13. Interesting read...https://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/orioles/ctbnl-orioles-self-inflicted-weakness-deserves-addressed/
  14. TIDES ANNOUNCE OPENING DAY ROSTER Ron Johnson set to lead Tides for 6th consecutive season The Norfolk Tides and their parent club, the Baltimore Orioles, have announced the Tides Opening Day roster for the 2017 season. The roster features 13 pitchers and 12 position players, and the team will once again be managed by Ron Johnson. Joining Johnson are Pitching Coach Mike Griffin, Hitting Coach Sean Berry, Field Coach José Hernández, Athletic Trainer Mark Shiresand Strength and Conditioning Coach Trevor Howell. Norfolk’s pitchi

  16. Here's a link to a recent scouting report filed on Trey Mancini by Bernie Pleskoff of FanRag sports. I'm highly intrigued with his report on Mancini's defense in right field. He also grades out Mancini as a 50 and thinks he could develop into an everyday player eventually. https://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/orioles/pleskoff-scouting-report-trey-mancini/
  17. The Orioles have added another high school righthander to the draft class Perfect Game has him listed at 6'2", 180 pounds. He is committed to baseball powerhouse, Cal State Fullerton
  18. By Charlie Wilmoth | December 7, 2016 at 5:26pm CDT There's some traction here - Heyman seems to be all over this like a cheap suit. The fit is obvious, and the Orioles may actually have something to trade for his guy, who is not expected to bring the Royals that big a return. So here are the questions: 1) Who do you think the Royals are asking for, and 2) Who would you trade for Dyson, if you were to make an offer?
  19. Despite being one of the Orioles' first spring cuts, Chance Sisco is committed to becoming a major league-caliber catcher rather than moving to a different position. https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/03/14/orioles-chance-sisco-confident-he-can-stick-at-catcher
  20. A lot of folks, including myself have penciled in Hyun Soo Kim when making out potential everyday lineups for the Orioles in 2016. Honestly, part of the reason I've put him in those lineups without seeing him play is mostly due to the fact of limited other options. However, there are some red flags that make me wonder whether Kim will end more of a 4th outfielder/DH more than an everyday guy. Sure, the 28-year old Kim comes over after posting gaudy .326/.438/.541/.979 slash line with a career best 28 home runs and 101 walks in 630 PAs. That seems great until you see that former Orioles farm h
  21. ESPN's Tim Kurkjian says the Orioles' bullpen, power hitting and defense might be enough to reach the postseason, despite their shaky starting pitching: https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/06/21/tim-kurkjian-orioles-may-be-a-little-short-on-people-to-deal
  22. I love Orioles and KBO(Korea Baseball is quite fun.. haha) Kim Jae-hwan is a player in KBO. He is now at 19 homers and He is over .300 batting average. He is so good. but He is diagnosed with positive steroids (No anabolic) 5 years ago. He also received disciplinary action. but people say "He is doing well now by virtue of 5 years ago of drugs" Even though He ate steroids, Disparaging His record is right?
  23. Henry Urrutia says he was angry when the Orioles sent him to Double-A Bowie, but the move may have served as a wakeup call for the 29-year-old outfielder. https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/06/14/baltimore-orioles-prospect-henry-urrutia-i-know-i-can-play-in-the-big-leagues
