  1. Listen, I dont know Dan Le batard well. Hes a columnist for the Miami Herald (and usually a very good one) and he has a show on ESPN, and perhaps I am reacting to something I just heard about but didnt see. Apparently, though, Lebetard made a comment today somewhere about Jim Palmer criticising Manny Machado last week for not running out a ball on the field. He said "He needs to play the game the right way". PERIOD. Le batard apparently went somewhere(either his show, column or social media ) and implied that what Palmer was REALLY saying was that Manny needed to play the game "the white way". Palmer NEVER SAID THAT. This is so grossly unfair and irresponsible and hateful I cant even believe a professional like Le batard would say that even in private conversation let alone a public forum of any kind. Ive been ripped by Le batard myself(the OJ controversy last week) and Im fair game because the issue was in the media and there was room for criticism. But Palmer? Why should he have to address something so incredible unfair, unprofessional, and especially something HE DIDNT SAY.The inference is disgusting. To imply racism for the want of social media attention, clicks or whatever you want to call it, is the shallowest, most cowardly and unprofessional kind of innuendo of all. Jim Palmer isnt just the best baseball analyst in the business and probably among the most honest, he's also a friend of mine for 45 years. Im personally offended for him and his family and anyone who knows him. Shame on Le betard and this new era of "calling it as you see it"...EVEN IF YOU DIDNT SAY IT. A new low in media baiting.
