  1. Just for the fun (or agony) of it, imagine that the O's were going to make one, but only one, of these signings: Chris Tillman for 1/$2 million plus incentives Miguel Gonzalez for 1/$6 million Wake Miley for 1/$4 million plus incentives Which, if any, would you prefer that they do? Note: telling us what they will "actually" do does not qualify as answering the question.:)
  2. Jim Henneman says Miguel Gonzalez and Hyun Soo Kim are not making good first impressions during spring training and their roster spots may be in jeopardy. https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/03/24/miguel-gonzalez-hyun-soo-kim-squarely-on-orioles-roster-bubble
  3. Paul Folkemer highlights four players who are primed for breakout or disappointing seasons for the Baltimore Orioles in 2016. https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/03/29/2016-orioles-preview-which-orioles-could-break-out-or-disappoint
  4. Jim Henneman believes Hyun Soo Kim is a better hitter than he's shown, but he says putting him on the Orioles' Opening Day roster would have sent the wrong message. https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/03/30/hyun-soo-kim-doesnt-have-what-it-takes-to-compete-in-the-al-east
  5. Former Orioles and Braves pitching coaching Leo Mazzone says spring training numbers mean nothing when it comes to a pitching staff -- all that matter is who's healthy. https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/03/30/leo-mazzone-if-orioles-rotation-stays-healthy-baltimore-can-compete
  6. Sure things 1. Jimenez 2. Tillman 3. Guasman 4. Miguel Gonzalez I don't think there is much argument about the top 3. Ubaldo is under contract, Tillman is cheap for his talent, Guasman is also cheap and ready to be great (or fail trying). Miguel Gonzalez. Plenty of debate on this but I don't see why. Posted this in another thread which got me thinking about the rotation in general. Linky The long list of in house candidates for the 5th spot and the requisite depth needed: Tyler Wilson Tim Berry Dylan Bundy Steve Johnson TJ McFarland And hopefully some signings because this isn't a strong or deep list. Herein lies my point. The Orioles have 4 proven starting pitchers then a bunch of question marks. Why in the world would they dump Gonzalez thus adding to the problem?
  7. If the Orioles are going to be success in 2016, they are going to need dominating performance from Chris Tillman and Miguel Gonzalez. https://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/03/16/orioles-need-bounce-back-seasons-from-chris-tillman-miguel-gonzalez-for-2016-success
  8. If indeed the Orioles sign Yovani Gallardo, they will have improved their rotation, but at the cost of their No. 14 pick. It shouldn't have come to this. The Orioles had plenty of opportunities this winter to add a quality starter without worrying about losing their first-round pick. But the Birds essentially painted themselves into a corner. Here's how it happened: http://www.pressboxonline.com/2016/02/10/orioles-starting-pitching-strategy-is-difficult-to-decipher
  9. While a lot can still happen, right now, the Orioles' starting rotation looks like it could remain a liability in 2016. http://www.pressboxonline.com/2015/09/17/orioles-starting-rotation-faces-depth-problem-in-2016
