The COVID-laden 2020 St. Louis Cardinals had their season shut down for 17 days in July and August ...... that's a lot of games to make up for a 162-game season, but for a 60-game season played in a span of 70 days, that might seem close to impossible. In the process of doing so they played 53 games in only 44 days, which included 11 doubleheaders. 7 of their players had tested positive for the virus just prior to the shutdown. And through it all, they found a way to win more games than they lost to reach the National League playoffs.
