Why do I get the feeling if the doc told Crush that he had multiple fractures in both legs he'd shrug it off... "Meh, it's only the fibia in both legs... may not be able to pinch run but... I'll be ok, maybe take a day or two."

Signing Morales makes no sense at all. The guy hasn't faced live pitching in almost 7 months and by the time he would be in game shape, #19 should be back.

Morales has been a pretty good hitter . He could be very useful at the right price. He can fill in the next 6 weeks while Davis is out. Then DH next year when Cruz is gone, and play 1B the following year when Davis leaves.

Exactly. He makes a lot of sense if we are to assume that Davis is gone in 2 years... we don't have anyone in the system we can really expect to be a starting 1B right now, and he can be moved around as needed for the next few years.

The catcher thing looks like a disaster unless he's not going to play.

Joseph has a good average but 17 is in 72 abs. Monell :( and Bowie has three catchers under the Mendoza line.

For all the guys screaming for Schoop to stay ....how bout putting him at 1B?

Who replaces Davis tomorrow? Our Norfolk options are depressing. Look at the box score from tonight. Patton didn't pitch well either it looks like...unrelated I know, but just saying.

What we don't know is has Pearce been put on waivers. Waiver claims or clears are not announced on the weekends so the O's may know something on Monday at 2pm about whether Pearce cleared waived.

I could see the O's playing with 24 on Sunday. If the bring someone up to replace Davis on Sunday (even a pitcher) then they will not be able to bring up Pearce. The only way Pearce can be promoted from AAA is to be an injury replacement. Otherwise he has be spend 10 days in the minors before he is eligible to be called up.

Assuming he can handle the position, I'd like to see Wieters on 1B. Maybe that prevents his bat from declining as the season wears on as well. Clevenger can swing the bat and isn't a liability behind home plate. Option Weeks or Lombo and call up another catcher.

You could see that today. Wieters and Weeks both have decent numbers vs Shields. Clevenger is going to catch today according to Buck. If Wieters plays today he has to either DH or play 1B.

Actually-Roch's blog said exactly what you just said-they are probably going to play with 24. I hadn't read that before posting so your comments are spot on.

Roch says they will probably play with 24 today and bring someone up on Tuesday. Melewski says Machado has not been told what the plan for him is after this weekend. Anyone think if there are no problems in today's game, Machado comes up Tuesday?

One never knows. However, Buck says Manny's rehab is not physical at this point. Its getting his timing back to major league speeds. That is probably best done at AAA. Just because of that I think Manny goes to Norfolk for three games before he is called to the majors. But again. One never knows.

Can Pearce be pulled back because of the injury?

15 days minimum according to Buck. Sounds like it could be June.

Yea first thing I thought was see you in a month and a half Chris. I guess we should have a re-do on the HR prediction thread for Chris.
