vs. RAYS, 9/01

Recommended Posts

I'd be okay with another month of this. Make it so bad that Angelos pulls the trigger. Fires Buck, DD, blows up the team. Trade everyone. Have Norfolk play as the ML club. See if any of the young kids who thought they had no hope of playing in the ML might rise to the occasion to be superstars.

It worked well for Houston. A lot of nobodies grew into their responsibility and helped them achieve a 4-game lead in the AL West after a horrific run of seasons. Pathetic in 2011-2013, 4th place in 2014 (it's a miracle they didn't finish in the cellar), and amazing in 2015. Out of nowhere.

Angelos is not going to fire Dan and Buck, not with their contracts.

Angelos is not willing to make the type of internal moves the Astros made.

I'm not particularly impressed with TJ either. He has a sinker that can be effective at times though. I see nothing like that in Johnson's arsenal.

He isn't dominant enough against lefties for my liking.

Yep, that was Houston's plan. Random minor leaguers forced to survive on their wits and grow together like birds pushed out of the nest.

I mean is there something going on in the clubhouse? I just find it hard to believe that every aspect of the game has gone bad for pretty much everybody at the same time.

Low point of the last three years?

Worst stretch since 2010 for me. The 2011 team was bad because our pitching was just brutal. I don't recall "this type", of a stretch.

Well, we might get to see Drake pitch.

I wonder who else we'll be demoting from Norfolk in the next week or so. Does a player in the thick of the playoffs with the Tides have the right to refuse an assignment here?
