"Wow offer made to Davis!" (7 years - $150M Not one nickle more)

Recommended Posts

I really like CD but if he doesn't take 150, and by tonight, he can go elsewhere. I'll take an Upton, Alvarez and a starter. Boras can piss off.

It's astounding to me that they evidently increased their offer in the face of no apparent competition.
Yeah what gives with that. They are already bidding against themselves. Must be PA's deep affection for Chris. He can't quit him. :smile11:

Dan Connolly stated the other day that both Matt Wieters and Darren O'Day were pretty tough on Davis when he failed his second test when we were trying to win our first World Series in thirty years. Against a team that was stacked with right-handed pitchers. Maybe he would rather move past that chapter of his life and past folks who knew him when. It's hard to tell what he may feel about it all himself. He has said it is out of his hands, so I would assume that he is trusting this to his agent.

All of baseball knows his mistake, not sure how fresh a start he can get, the questions after a suspension generally lingers a while. Ah well. And thus, my deja-Teixeira moment - when players don't go with the O's, it feels personal. Always a business first, yet, I get a little protective of my team. I can't imagine turning away that kind of cash to play in orange and black.

My guess DD wants to move on and PA wants to keep trying with CD.

8th year? That does sound like Boras. Time to slap a deadline on it and move on. Dang.

I meant the folks, and fans, that he had personally let down.

With the TEX situation there were 4 teams in on him. Here there is only one.

Is that 8/200 or 8/160?

I do realize it was Heyman that suggested Toronto and St. Louis were in it too. But yes, it feels more like we're bidding against ourselves at this point.
