Kevin Gausman Could Be Crucial To Orioles' 2016 Success

Recommended Posts

Gausman definitely looked real solid in the beginning, but it seemed like the wheels fell off in the 5th. One of the last batter he faced I think he spiked 3 balls in the dirt. Hopefully if it's a mental thing he can get past it in the future.........bad umpiring is unfortunately something he's gonna have to deal with.

He's the best pother we have developed since Bedard.

Jim Johnson and Britton have certainly had their moments here, but Gausman certainly seems to have the potential to eclipse them. Obviously I hope he does, but I just refuse to get my hopes up until I see a bit more consistency.

To me, he has to prove it. He has good stuff -- that's different from being a good pitcher. Right now he's a pitcher with a career record of 14-20 and an ERA+ of 96. He has looked very impressive at times, not so impressive at other times. I hope at the end of the year we can say he had a breakthrough season, but until he actually does that, I'm not making any proclamations.

Well we can't keep blaming the umpire when things go south

for the pitcher.
