Are we going to get the game in tonight?

Recommended Posts

It's been raining all day long and it's not just a misty drizzle, either. It's moderate rainfall with very short periods of heavier rain. It hasn't stopped yet today. There's a low pressure center southeast of Baltimore

spinning up moisture and doesn't seem to be going anywhere in any hurry. Looks like it will be difficult to get this one in, but we may get a break tonight.

Orioles always wait longer then most teams so should be awhile before we know.

But, more rain in forecast tomorrow. :(

Just a small chance of thunderstorms for a couple hours. Most of the day is forecasted to be sunny. I think a double header on Saturday is by far the most likely scenario at this point.

I'd put the chances of tonight being played at less than 10%

This is making my ticket-buying decision much harder. I'm sitting 100 yards from OPACY and I'm sad because I know I'm probably not going to go tonight. :(

if you're a gambling man like myself, buy good seats super cheap right now on stub hub. If they end up playing, you might be able to resell them between 6-7pm for the $6-10 you paid. if not, you're out a couple bucks...$21 in my case

but if they play a day/night tomorrow....you just scored good seats for almost nothing...

True. There are some club level tix (covered!) that can be had on the CHEAP tonight. Thinking about it hard.

There are terrace box seats for $6 that are covered. I have no ability to go to the game tonight so I'm taking the gamble its rained out.

TRIPLE HEADER Mother's Day brawl. Come one come all.

My vote's for a winner-take-all 27 inning game on Sunday.

Odd # sections...I see 23, 43, 53, 59

You're the man, dude. Thanks.

I may grab some cheapies and either brave the rain or pray for it.

Looks like there's a window of a couple hours, lining up during gametime. It probably should be ppd, but they're probably try to get it in and it'll be ugly. Baseball is baseball though :noidea:

    • This is what I've been working on. Ready, Steady, GO! from the 60's. I'd guess no later than '65, Gerry and the Pacemakers' absolute zenith... playlist: Stones with Brian still Beatles introducing PJ Proby doing  "Walkin' The Dog"!!! backed up by The Vernons Girls (sounds like The Go-Gos...) Cilla Black doing the standard Gerry and the Pacemakers Donovan! Sounds Incorporated Long John Baldry doing "Got My Mojo Workin'"! and that's all just the first 15 minutes!   Ready, Steady, GO!
    • That’s fine and true, but the Rays are the best in the biz at developing talent. If they’ve given up on him, it’s fair to think they exhausted all the possibilities first. I think Grenier might not pan out, and Hall is still a couple years off, so if the Os think they see something worthwhile,  Wander certainly has some appeal.
    • A good swing is not defined by the results. Also, remember that SF Giants are not know to produce good young hitters through draft and development. If you are the Orioles, you have to believe in your coaches and development staff when compared with other teams. With this much in his tank, you have to take a shot on a big power guy like this.  I watched some Spring Training at bats as well. He hit 4-5 HR's in the last few years. One video had him on the same field as Hanser Alberto in February 2019, lol.
    • Ummm, it seems not.
    • I got a axe-handle pistol On a graveyard frame That shoot tombstone bullets Wearin' balls and chains I'm drinkin' TNT I'm smokin' dynamite I HOPE some screwball... start a fight! Because I'm ready Readyas anybody can be. actually a Willie Dixon song...
    • Apparently it’s not that obvious or someone would have traded for him.   The market for WAR is not linear, even if you can make the argument that it should be.
    • Considering he only hit 153, you must’ve watched an awful lot of at bats before you got to that home run.   edit: Let me say again then I’m not complaining about the move, I just don’t see it as being necessary. Any waiver pick up is essentially risk free, so there’s no reason not to do it, I just didn’t know why we had interest in a power guy who hasn’t been able to hit in the majors, although it is a small sample size. Power is useless if you can’t hit the ball.1
