Baysox Gary Kendall Says Corban Joseph Could Be 'Ryan Flaherty-Type Player'

Recommended Posts

Good, they can non-tender Flaherty and replace him with someone making the minimum.

Sounds like a plan.

He's never played short and has 47 at third, 34 at first. And he's 27. Maybe that would be more useful if he'd OPS'd .800 anytime except 2012. Last year as a 26-year-old in AA he OPS'd .701.

I'm not expecting it to actually happen.

Doing that would save 1/13th of Gallardo's salary next year. It might sound like a plan to you but it is a very bad plan.

I'm not saying Corban is an answer.

But if you can replace one fungible part with another one making less money you do it.

I don't see any reason why a Flaherty type should be making more than the league minimum.

If there is a way to non tender or remove Flaherty, the Orioles should strongly consider it. :)

Great! Maybe he can make the club and we'll have two players that everyone can whine and cry about
NO.. we let go of Flaherty, thus only leaving 1 Flaherty on the team. I'm hoping this new Flaherty is willing to change his name to Flaherty!

For AA-Baysox manager Gary Kendall, the key to Orioles prospect Corban Joseph's future may be his ability to play multiple infield positions effectively.
