Id have zero tolerance for Ubaldo today.

This is the end of Ubaldo as a starter era. And he may be released outright.
Yep just release him. Don't even want to see him in bullpen. This sh?t getting old.

Ubaldo's nickname henceforth should be: The Crippler. Ubaldo "the crippler" Jimenez. Cripples us 6/7 times he hits the mound.

Dump the dude, already. Jim Palmer will be happy. Give a kid on the farm a chance. Pick one out of a hat. They would have a

hard time doing worse than "the crippler.":wedge:

Jiminez on his outing: I only had one bad inning and I didn't walk anyone so that is a positive.
He had one third of an inning.

Ubaldo has to go to the bullpen. Give him a chance to get sorted out without killing the team. Go back to 8-man bullpen. It's not like Janish is mashing LHPs and that is his only role.
Absolutely agree. If the team releases him, then they eat up two years of a huge salary. The team needs some of that money to sign Trumbo, Wieters, maybe Alvarez, plus a decent starting pitcher. Plus Manny. Let Ramon work with him in the BP for the rest of the year.

He was mostly in the stretch position.

The stretch position modified by the quick turn of the head to watch balls rocketing around the park.

I'm hoping DD has a plan to get out of this. I just read that the CHC are looking for more pitching and this is a year that the Orioles have a shot at the WS only IF we can get a stable, legitimate starting rotation.

Now is the time to fix it. I don't know why we weren't in on James Shields. I don't know if DD is looking around at bottom-ranked teams that might have a decent TOR guy ready to get out of there. This cannot continue.

I am willing to take a bottom of the rotation starter instead of the NBBIR guys we have now. (No Business Being In Rotation). Lol.

If he starts walking people and putting people on all over the place, Id yank him early and go right to Worley.

I dont think Buck should have anything but a short hook for him.

Im sick to death of our pitchers giving us no chance to win a ball game.He needs to know hes expected to get outs early and not walk a ton of people early. If he cant get through an inning , he needs to sit and someone else needs to get a chance.

I have very little optimism that he will pitch well today. Not with this Blue Jays team crushing the ball.

ZERO TOLERANCE SUNDAY.

Rather prophetic I would say! Nice going Roy!

He needs to DFA on Monday. Enough.

Nah, if they wait until Tuesday, I'm ok with it.

    • Astros, Cubs and Red Sox all have those recent rings (couldn't say if they had Best 5-Year Record in their League), and I think those give cover to re-do those bottom lines on the rolling 7-10 year balance sheet.   We have to beat $300M of Yankees three years out, but the Red Sox really can't pitch and Xander's shortstop clock strikes 30 in the not too distant future.   It'll be tougher if Devers (and Vlad) stay trim. The 2023-2024 Yankees do already have almost $100M of it committed to Stanton, Hicks, LeMahieu, and then Cole much more productively.   We'll see if Judge gets a Springer-ish AAV, or Voit keeps getting tendered. I think I think a healed up Chris Sale is more of a trade acquisition possibility than someone tormenting us in 2023.
    • I'm going to mindfully refrain from looking up if Cesar Valdez throws harder than Mike Boddicker.
    • I get the frustration about his comments being similar to the past, to the stupid contract and still being on the team. If he must be here (and it seems likely at this point), it'd be nice if the changes made a difference and he showed significant progression.  Not going to bank on it, but it would be more fun to have him not suck if we're stuck with him.
    • I'm lukewarm on Lawlar for the same ageist reason as Witt. Lawlar 7.1.2002 will already be 19 by draft day just as Witt 6.14.2000 was in 2019.  I think 6.30 is the exact seasonal age day, so Lawlar will max out that dividing line forever and ever.   Gunnar 6.29.2001 was two drafts ahead but is just one year older than Lawlar. Maybe I've seen too much Friday Night Lights and the Texas dream of gridiron domination with all the "let's hold the boy back from kindergarten a year" and maybe its something completely innocent, but whatever the root of it was, those quarters and half years of age bear on future projection. There's a whole season for the Age 18's and Age 21's to play, but Lawlar (age and all), and the three SEC aces would be kind of a bummer of a Top 4.   Its probably early to count Hill there until he pitches as many innings as Hunter Harvey.   I'm sure Garrett Stallings had plenty of rising NCAA juniors alongside him this offseason, so who knows who's who these days?   Games soon, games soon...
