And 3 for 3 so far tonight through 4 innings - including a homer.  It's not possible that he's not one of the top 50 prospects in baseball.  Top 20?

If draft position is taken out of it and we are just looking at numbers and skillset, I don't see how he's not a top 20 prospect.

I told milb we need more Bowie video!

Hays is a top 10 prospect. He's produced at an insane level, that's what matters. He's terrible at nothing & mashes the baseball. If he went #1 in his draft it would be considered a great pick and he'd be a top 2 prospect.

Should be a september call up

Heck... I'd promote him now, and option Rickard (does Joey still have options?)

McLouth was an all-star at one point.  Had some very good years in Pittsburgh and was pretty decent for us for one and a half seasons. McLouth's career is probably the median outcome for Hays.

Probably his ceiling.

Yes, Yes he does. Next year too! And the year after! He was rule 5.

Can you elaborate on why think McLouth is ceiling?  Many on board are likely scouting the stat line HRs, watching the video clips and dreaming of something potentially bigger...

Definitely not his ceiling.    Hays is bigger and stronger.   In his age 21 season, McLouth was OPSing .797 in the Carolina League.    Hays is far beyond that.   I'd put Hays' ceiling in the Nick Markakis/Hunter Pence/Jayson Werth range.

Well then. Better than I was expecting. McLouth had a good career though.

He did.    If Hays had the same career, that would be solid.    But we can dream of better, IMO.    We have not had many prospects blast their way through Frederick and Bowie as he has.
