That Loss Was On Buck but Wilson must go

Tie game on the road is a classic long man situation because you can't use your closer and you don't know if/when your team will score.

Disagree. Maybe in extra innings. Usually one inning pitchers are used until you run out of them.

Long man is there to relieve a starter who was knocked out early or pitch in a blowout. Not a tie game in the 9th

And I bet you rationalized not using Britton in the WC too? Just curious. We all love Buck but certain fans will defend him at all costs.

Sorry, I just don't agree with your assessment. Accepting losing "is annoying", particularly when it's the Blue Jays!

You got to put the dagger in, they were 1-9.

Yes, the dagger move would be to score and then bring in Brach.

If Brach pitches the 9th then who pitches? You have to score still to win. This wasn't a playoff game.

He uses the save rule as a leverage index in my opinion. He wants his best out there in 3 run games.

Whomever is next in line.  If that's Wilson then it is Wilson.  You hold the opposition down as long as you can.

Gnat trolls should be seen little and heard less. Go second guess Dusty.

The only guy besides Brach was Nuno. I do not believe he is any more proficient than Wilson. Regardless of the save rule, you need the best combination to pitch at least two, possibly more innings. Brach might get you through one but then you still need to get another, and maybe even more than that. You cannot burn Wilson and Brach there, period.

I think we haven't seen much of Nuno because he has had bad match ups. A lefty vs Boston in Fenway and vs the Jays isn't exactly a good combo.

Yeah, we ran out of them. Brach was only going to come into the game to close. He had just pitched two nights in a row. Your choices are Wilson and Nuno and you stick with Wilson because he is already in the game.

You still have to score. What the hell is the difference if the Jays score in the 9th or 10th. You act like Brach hasn't pitched in 5 days.

Right, I agree. My point is that in usual or big game circumstances they aren't pitching Wilson there that is all.

He didn't want to use Brach at all. He'd only use to protect a lead.

It's a sport where the best teams still lose 62 games.

Appreciate you trying to be civil. I hear ya, but this game was winnable, very winnable. Momentum was on our side.

Well they certainly are not going to score in the 10th if the Jays walk it off in the 9th.

I understand that they might not win regardless of how the relievers were used.

Maybe Buck uses Brach and he gives up the HR.

But the proper process is to pitch the best guys you have available.

In a playoff game I agree. This was game 10. Either way Tyler Wilson was pitching in this game. Once again Givens today is a separate issue.
