Yes.  I heard earlier it was a blowout.

Hard for me to get into a sport with no competition until the Finals. Just awful

I don't have a problem with it at all. Champions should be determined by who the best team is not a team who catches fire at the right time or have a few lucky bounces go their way. In the NBA playoffs, the best team always wins and that's the way it should be. They award excellence like no other professional sports league in North America

One of those long nights. Had an early evening gig, a radio show. Listened to the game on At Bat on way home. Went out to dinner with the family, tracked the game. Listened on the way home and then to the storage unit to dump the drum gear. Back home, watching it on MLB-TV. And now a rain delay. It's playing out almost like that Davis two inning pitching game vs. Boston for me. I kept up with the game in 3 or four different places I was that day.

Yep, but it's still no Premier League. That is a "true" champion.

Was talking to a guy at work and we were wondering... if it's Cleveland/GS again, it would be the same final two teams for the 3rd straight year.   Has that ever happened before in the four so-called "major sports"?   We couldn't recall any.   Don't think it's happened in college football or college basketball either, though Clemson and Alabama have a shot to do it this fall.

The Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions played in the NFL World Championship game 3 years in a row, from 1952-1954.

The sport is dominated by 2 teams. Is that worth a meaningless regular season and crappy playoffs?

I like excellence myself.

Wow, and now they are two of the most perennial loser franchises in the NFL.

Didn't know that.

I remember the Dallas-SF 1992-94 NFC title games.

You can find a ton of examples of the best team not winning the NBA playoffs. Like, a ton.

The Canadiens and The Red Wings also did it in the Stanley Cup Final 3 years in a row, from 1954-1956.

Or any European soccer league. You play every single team in the league home and away and the team with the best record at the end of the season wins. Pure and fair. Real competition. US TV channels would hate it, and yet it WORKS!

Unfortunately that format is not possible in the NBA or NFL unless they dramatically reduce the number of games on their schedule. Funny enough, MLB is the one league that could easily go to an EPL format and have it work. MLB could have every team play the other 29 teams exactly six times; (three games at home and three on the road) and then have the two teams with the best overall records play in the World Series. It would be by far the best way to determine a champion because the winner would be at worst the second best team over the course of an entire season.
