Two struggling teams.

The Blue Jays just lost 3 out of 4 games to the Braves.

The Orioles just lost 2 outs of 3 games to the Tigers, and 6 out of 7 overall.

Slow to post lineup, as of 4:41 the O's are the only team in a 7-8 PM game to have not posted a lineup

Buck must be having trouble finding healthy bodies

It might get so bad that Kim will even have to be in the lineup.

If Gausman can't do pretty well against the lineup the BJs are now putting out there, even I would have to concede that he may not be able to stay in the rotation. I expect a few runs, maybe a homer or two (if so I hope it's not Bautista), but he's got to be able to keep the walks down and the bases relatively clear against this group.

This year or long term?  I think either way you let him continue to work.  (1) we have no better options in the short term, (2) he's coming off a very strong year, so it's not like he's never had success at the big league level.

What I meant is that another poor performance will make me question, as others have, whether we will go through this season with Gausman (if he's not injured) in the rotation. I never questioned that until his last start.

You're right, of course, that there aren't a lot of real good ;options (though I think Asher or Verrett are possibilities), and there could be a question as to whether replacing Gausman or Ubaldo should have priority. I don't agree that Kevin's past success, or his demonstrated talent, is a reason for letting him continue to cost us games. It provides a basis for expecting him to pitch better than he has, but only up to a point.

The Orioles wound up winning 2 out of 3.

It could have been better, it could have been worse.
