Alex Cobb- The Orioles Superman

Recommended Posts

As we all know, Alex Cobb can't get here fast enough. Imagine how much trouble we would be in if the Orioles had not signed him. It is only April 8th and the bullpen is already worn out. The Orioles bullpen has to be in the top five in innings pitched you would think. Will Alex for sure be able to take Wright's next turn in the rotation or will the Orioles have to find a spot starter? We need you to be our Superman Alex. Please save the day!

Cobb isn't know for going deep into games even when he is pitching well.

But he should be able to make it out of the first most starts.

The Orioles would be in serious trouble right now if they had not signed Cobb. The season might already be over. It is crystal clear that the Orioles don't have enough starting pitching right now. Alex should be a real shot in the arm for the Orioles.

Marlins get 3 in the top of the first vs Arrieta.

So guys who signed after spring training had started, in their debut games so far:

-- Cashner gives up 3 HRs

-- Lynn gives up 5 in the first inning

-- Arrieta 3 in the top of the first

Don't expect much for Cobb's initial start of the season, folks.   There's a reason spring training is 6+ weeks long.   It isn't the hitters, who could probably be game ready in 2-3 weeks.   It isn't short relievers, who probably could be ready in 4 weeks.   It's the starting pitchers.

Alex Cobb doesn't have to be Clayton Kershaw, Chris Sale or Max Scherzer to help the Orioles. He just has to pitch atleast six innings and keep the Orioles in the game.

Really?  I guess that'll make a huge difference between last place and 2nd to last place for us.

Guy only works every 5th start.  I'm not sure what kind of miracle you guys are expecting.

Yes, yes, but he’s better than the last ‘ace’ they signed.

That's understood, but Cashner settled in for his second start and Cobb should do the same.  They're both legit MLB starters.  Wright is not and Tillman is cooked.

And as we've seen, even when we get back-to-back incredible starts from Bundy and Cashner, we can still lose both games on account of our super weird offense.
