Machado Trade Expectations

Machado Trade Expectations

  1. 1. Regarding the return we receive, what are your expectations of whatever Machado trade takes place?

    • The return will be outstanding.
    • The return will be solid.
    • The return will be merely decent.
    • The return will be poor.
    • The return will be just terrible.
    • I expect we will not trade him at all, getting only a compensation pick in next year's draft.

Sure seems like Britton will be going in a separate deal.  Which if it's for 2-3 more guys is just fine.

I'd rather see Britton get traded separately. I feel we'd get more back in total that way.

Manny is too good a player to be one of those guys that when you flip his card over you see a ton of teams listed.

Hope he signs w/LAD long-term- and stops the Yanks cold in a WS or two along the way while we execute our rebuild...

Maybe he goes to LAD and we bring him back to hit his 500th HR

I think the Dodgers could offer Lux, Gonsolin, and Bannon. I doubt you'd find a better package being offered but we will see.

Either way dropping Forsythe and changing the pieces would concern me.

I'd much rather have Diaz, May, Jackson, and Kremer than Diaz, Alvarez, Jackson, and Kremer!

He's way behind that pace.

Surprised they didn't insist on Lux being included in the deal considering our need in the IF.   I'm still happy with the reported return though.

+1, seems like a fair package but would have preferred Lux in it based on need. But Jackson is interesting. .845 OPS with 65 speed and 70 arm. Sounds like SS potential.

The fans owe nothing to the team and a lot of them - probably most - would much, much rather there be a good team on the field year after year regardless of how it's accomplished.

Not really. He's averaged 31 HR per. If he keeps that up until he's 35 he'd have 472. Very doable IMO.

Jackson was under 50% of fielding games at SS last year, and this year under 40%.  Developmentally, that suggests to me he's already stretched at SS and probably doesn't project there in the show.

Yep.

Plus, the  Dodger financial situation is their own business and should be independent of the prospect price as long as there are other sharks in the pool. Unless, of course, we offer the Dodgers some sub prime financing. Always be closing!

It was an Eddie Murray joke...but I think he's got a good shot at it.  He's a different hitter power-wise since 2015 so I expect that pace to continue rather than dropping back to the teens.

Playing in LA isn't going to help a lot though.
