  1. 1. What trade return do you expect for Zach Britton?

    • The return will be outstanding
    • The return will be solid
    • The return will be merely decent
    • The return will comparable to Colin Moran: low OBP, below average power, poor fielder with a limited future in MLB
    • The return will be worse than Colin Moran
    • The Orioles will not trade Britton and will not receive a compensation pick since there is no chance they will QO him.

one more:

One week remains until the non-waiver deadline, leaving the Orioles plenty of time to continue amassing young talent. They should trade second baseman Jonathan Schoop, who is batting .367 with a 1.046 OPS in July and is eligible for free agency after next season; trade center fielder Adam Jones, who would be a perfect fit for the Cleveland Indians; trade right-handers Dylan Bundy and Kevin Gausman, who according to sources are drawing interest from the Colorado Rockies, Chicago Cubs and other clubs.

The returns will not be terribly sexy, except perhaps for Schoop, but the Orioles need to start completely over. They are 41 1/2 games out of first place in a season in which they are trying. How much more painful will rebuilding be?

Congratulations to Duquette, Anderson, the sons of Angelos, the ghost of Dalton – whoever is calling the shots.

this part was interesting too:

The club’s turnaround appeared to start at the winter meetings, when Lou Angelos drove the Machado trade discussions, providing greater impetus and direction. The Orioles had to snap out of it sometime, particularly when their farm system – ranked 17th by Baseball America after three straight years in the bottom four – isn’t nearly as productive as it should be.

Definitely interesting quotes above.

Unless we get lowballed I have a hard time believing we don't seriously consider moving a couple of controlled guys like Schoop or Gaus.

If the return for schoop is better than Bundy or Gausman than I am trading schoop now and waiting to trade b and g.

The crazy thing is that at 26, he really isn't THAT old for AA.

Machado is 26 right now. Seems old for AA to me.

Yeah the Rule 5 question was the best. Do they really think players are thinking about the Rule 5 draft in July (or ever)?

Not the Rule 5 draft per se, but I do think that players think about whether their team will put them on their 40-man roster.    That greatly increases the chances of getting called up to the majors at some point, and it also comes with a significant salary bump.
