Trying to avoid being swept in a 4 game series for the 4th time this year.

Orioles have been swept 14 times this year:   3 2-game series, 8 3-game series, and 3 4-game series.   (There was also a scheduled 2-game home series vs Philly; we lost one game and the other was rained out.   We lost the rainout makeup as well).   Gary just said we have been swept 16 times this year -- I think he must have been counting those two Philly games as 1 game "series".

We have swept one series this year -- the two game sweep at the Mets, where we scored 3 runs but managed to win both games.

Chris Sale is the first starter in MLB history to go 5 innings, get 12+ strikeouts, give up 1 or fewer hits, and allow no runs.

In other words, it's the best 5 inning start in the history of baseball.

He was reportedly on an 100-pitch count, but he was pulled after 68 pitches through 5.  If I was Cora, i would've left him out there at least one more inning.

They are up by 9.5 games and playing the Orioles.

I'd err on the side of caution with Sale.

They are not in a situation where they need to push guys.
