Managers available

I think we should lure Cito Gaston out of retirement and keep him on one year deals only until the team show signs of no longer being absolutely terrible, then fire him immediately.

Manager doesn't matter, IMO, until you've got the horses.  And right now, we ain't got the horses.  Probably won't for a few years.

Pass on Gibbons, anyway.

You have one you'd like in Baltimore. I want someone better than Buck. Goes along with a rebuild. That doesn't have his so called boys. That's not wedded to CD. Maybe there isn't one.

I agree on passing on Gibbons, but disagree with your premise that managers don't matter "until you've go the horses." I think managers are just as important in a rebuild, but for different reasons. I think you need a development guy in the manager role. You need someone who will give the young guys the ABs and innings they need over the veterans at times. And someone that can help the players grow.

That's a good way to say it.

Double yuck...Hope they give it to Ron Johnson, if Buck is not back.

I'm sorry but who is Ron Johnson?

and throw the youngsters out too much and in bad spots, and bury their confidence.

Its a fine line they have to work at times.

Yes but when Caleb and CD play all the time is ridiculous. The season is over. He should be playing more young guys. He should be playing Austin more than Caleb. Trey belongs at 1st not  CD. IMO

I can give young guys at bats.  I can give young guys at bats all day.  Just let me fill out a lineup card.

This.  And I'll be cheap.

Pretty sure the Diamondbacks were a .500 team when Buck took over.  😉

Division by zero.

In other words not Buck Showalter.

Someone much less expensive than Buck Showalter.

We'd hire Mike Mussina on a one day contract to do so.
