I have to imagine that the loss they take on fanfest, even with autograph vouchers and other things being sold, is pretty enormous all things considered.  If they replace events like fan fest and season ticket holder appreciation days with other events (even if they require you to pay for a ticket, maybe they are more frequent events) but only if they are indeed replacing them.

The voucher money always went to charity. It was never a money making event.

I don't know anything about her, but to be a woman and making it this far in baseball operations, she must be talented and I'm all for it.

She needs to update her Linkedin profile.

She was on the International side of the house.

from the article

Quote

Rosenbaum had spent the past five years with the Houston Astros, most recently as manager of international scouting. She was in charge of this July’s international signing period for that organization. Before he moved to the Orioles last November, Elias was Rosenbaum’s direct supervisor in Houston.

As one of Elias’ directors, Rosenbaum will be the Orioles’ highest-ranking female in baseball operations, and the first since Sarah Gelles, director of analytics, left for the Astros last November.

What will happen if this Elias regime is a bust?  Will it be a disaster here in B'more?

Yes. But this is not the thread for that discussion.

Nah....we have weathered plenty of disasters.   It would not be fun, though.

It became clear when Surhoff came out that Elias was putting his huge stamp on this organization this off season. That resulted in big changes to the scouting department and minor league instruction.

It looks like the ML team is part of that big turnover. We thought it happened last year, but this off season is apparently Elias' big reset.
