Penn Stuns Villanova (2018-19 Season Upset Thread)

Recommended Posts

Villanova had beaten the University of Pennsylvania 15 straight times in basketball, dating back to December of 2002.

Additionally, Villanova had won 25 consecutive games against Big 5 opponents (Temple, La-Salle, St. Joseph's, and Penn.) The last time that they lost to any of these opponents was in December of 2012, against Temple.

Both of those streaks were snapped tonight, as the Quakers stunned the defending national champions by a score of 75-72 at The Palestra.

NOTE: ) Penn head coach Steve Donahue coached Cornell to the Sweet Sixteen in 2010 ........ that was the first time than any Ivy League School had made it that far in the NCAA tournament since Penn made it to the Final Four in 1979.
