Austin Hays: On The Mend!

Recommended Posts

Weeks for a mild sprain is still kind of rough. I dont know how you stop hand injuries from sliding until you go feet first.

Yeah but  diehard O's negativists have to expect months, right?  I kid.  I kid!  Whatever, good news for Austin.

Here are some well-wishes from his friends and fans:

The "oven mitt" device seems to help reduce it.

I'm hardly one of the negativists, but I have noticed that if you take anything any front office says about player injuries and double the amount of time, you'll be right more often than not.  Still it's better news than it could be.

Thank Heavens!   Nice to have something go mildly our way for once.    Good thing we reassigned him before the injury, because if he’d been on the major league IL he’d be accruing service time and that would delay the date we could return him to the majors without him accruing a full year of service (currently May 16).     That said, I don’t get the impression the O’s will be in any big hurry to promote anyone.

Glad to hear about Hays. Hopefully this is isn't something that lingers though and bothers him. The thumb can be tricky sometimes.

Let's hope he's given more than enough time for this injury to heal.
