OFFNY

vs. YANKS, 4/04 (2019 Home Opener)

Recommended Posts

On the bright side of Chris Davis, sees 4.56 pitches per plate appearance so in 5 PAs he could use up 22-23 pitches a game of opposing pitches. Now don't say I haven't said something positive about him.

For audio? Thought he was asking about 105.7.

Oh, I thought you meant for video. That's how I stream the O's home broadcast at work or when I'm driving around.

Is it the same streaming site that r/baseball promotes?

I don't know what that is. I think I first got it from OFFNY. Shows every kind of game in the world, if they have the stream.

Can the O's be smart and extend Villar? Wouldn't mind keeping him around.

Right, extending middle infielders has worked out before...

Reddit's baseball subthread. Mine shows every major sport in the US, you can get the home or away broadcast, totally free too.

Richie Martin hit into some tough luck on that ground out to 1B. His EV was 105.4 and his xBA on that hit was .400. Martin had a nice BP today so that's a good sign that maybe he can break out of this early funk a bit.

Yeah, 105.7 is the flagship radio station he was asking about. Went to that Reddit link. Not crazy about the malware etc I may get there.

    • I've really enjoyed the prospect lists. The prospect lists are my favorite thing to look forward too. There's so few sites that offer such great information about organizational prospects especially many that aren't on many of the top lists. I'm really interested to see Welk in his first full season and how quickly the organization pushes him given his age. Also, I wonder if they think about moving Blaine Knight who I think is probably too small to move forward as a starter and Hanifee to the pen? I really hope that Hanifee who is a local kid who grew up in Cecil before moving to Virginia takes a step forward next year.
    • I've been intrigued by Cotton. IIRC, I believe Gagnon is close to signing with a Korean team.
    • I would say Hernaiz, but Tony was so high on him that he is already pretty high up the list.  If Stauffer comes out next year and shows he can hold his stuff and perform as a starter, he's basically Kremer with a better changeup. So that'd be a jump. McLarty or Welk are potential jumpers, McLarty could easily to come out a throw 92-95 with average or better command and a solid 3 pitch mix as a starter, that would part him in as a #5 SP projection. Which would put him as a 45 (11-17th in this year's list). Welk could show he is an average glove at 3B, 55 hit, 45 power, that's probably a second division 3B, a 45 (11-17th in this year's list). Fenter is kind of a similar skill set as Baumann (curve instead of slider out pitch) but a little less stuff, so if he moves fast and performs he could be Baumann with a little more age and relief risk. That's a 45. I won't list guys off the 30 because I don't want to spoil a future article, but needless to say there are plenty of potential jumpers there. To respond to @Frobby's post, when I sent my personal 30 to Tony to start the process of integrating our thoughts, I included 20 guys that I had in the same tier as the last 4 guys on my 30. My tiers are a little different than the final list.
    • Also it is amazing that we lost our pitching and bullpen coach because Brady thought they were the reason Wright wasn’t succeeding.
    • I predict he gets shelled in the KBO.  He is no Tyler Wilson.
    • I don’t see that at all.
    • Buck was making something like 4 million a year.  Hyde probably makes several million less than that. Elias probably makes less than DD.  Brady’s salary is gone.  I am sure they are highly profitable. When the Astros were tanking they were most profitable team in MLB.
