Marconi isn't much of a corner outfielder.  He's about as good there as Sisco is behind the plate.

At least Marconi could build a pretty good radio back in the day.  😉😉

Give him a break, probably an auto correction on Guglielmo Chrome...

I think you’re probably right, but where does that leave DJ? Especially because we have several legitimate OF possibilities.

Diaz hasn't spent any time in AAA, so he won't be up anytime soon. Whatever happens by then will work itself out. Having options is a good thing.

If Stewart and Mountcastle are front runners for left field, I want whichever one offers better defense.

Even if the other provides more overall value?  Kinda selfish.

No reason this isn’t the OD outfield.

Mountcastle starts at AAA.

Yeah, Elias is going to get that extra year from Mountcastle before he hits free agency. We'll see him sometime in May most likely.

Mancini at 1B. Davis to the bench if he's still on the team. Nunez to DH. Mountcastle starts at AAA but comes up early to push all of them. Villar at SS and Alberto at 2B. Martin at AAA. This isn't that bad if we can get some pitching.

    • Yeah, agree with your second point, it's not a huge deal. And agree it's probably mainly a style of play issue. But with regard to your first point, back when we were in the ACC it felt like things were way more balanced (other than blatant ref bias in Duke games, and maybe UNC games). There were actually games back in the day where it felt like we'd get favoritism against the bottom feeders. Even our current out of conference games, you might see an extra call or two go our way. Simply doesn't happen in conference games. Guess it's the big ten style of play and the fact Turgeon rarely has had big inside bangers (other than Fernando). I do wonder how much of it is the intangible of how well the coach works the refs.
    • Wow, Delmon bringing to life the phrase, “Someone put up a tent, the circus has come to town!”
    • Yep.  We usually sat in the upper deck so the first glimpse of the green grass was walking up the ramps but as a little kid I wasn't tall enough to see over the side walls of the ramps to glimpse the green without jumping up.
    • Thanks very much.  I’m glad to.  I didn’t make it to the Braves game as I don’t do the road games so we’re sorry about that.  The positive is that I use those days, like tomorrow to visit the minor league complex and let you guys know what I see and learn there.  I didn’t see that prospect Langaliers behind the plate, but I think his hit was Carroll’s one that he gave up in Cody’s otherwise clean IP.     As far as Davis, my notes from the AB in the first inning was a little bit of patience as he sat on two down and in pitches consecutively before walking.  And then I guess it was a pleasant surprise to see a little opp field single dropped in too.  But at the workouts and practice sessions where I’m watching him play defense he looks solid with the glove and not slower because of the additional weight.  Turning and throwing with accuracy is in no way an issue.  Getting to balls and hops is in no way an issue.   I didn’t see the Sisco tag that you were taking about.  Was he showing good D too?
    • So, he’s improving the third time through. He’s a nugget.
    • Or a left fielder, or a right fielder.
