I don't remember that, but it'd be great to go back and find those conversations if possible. @Frobby would you like to come play revisionist here?
Crafty righty doesn't nearly have the same ring as crafty lefty does. No one needs a crafty righty, no one likes a crafty righty. Everyone loves a crafty lefty.
Trachsel was an infuriating time bomb. Junkballs all day every day. Walk more than he struck out, and he didn't strike out anybody. And he took an hour and half between pitches. I have rarely been happier to see a pitcher go, and it was a miracle they got actual baseball players in return.
And then being the 2008 Orioles, they re-signed him after he pitched to an 8.00+ with the Cubs after the trade.
No schedule but over the past couple days, if you ready every Melewski/Kubatko/MLB.com column and listen to what Garceau was quoted as saying on his 105.7 talkshow, it seems to have come out that Garceau will be doing TV play by play for 52 games (he mentioned that exact #) and will also be doing a lot of Orioles pre-and post-game stuff on MASN. So maybe he will be replacing Tom Davis and working with Demper some of the time?
And also it was noted that Brown would do a little bit of TV pbp as well. And Arnold will be doing some radio pbp.
Each of those bits of info came from a different source.
So we know a little more about the various roles than we did two days ago, but I imagine there are things we will just have to wait and see on.
No problem. And I wasn't trying to drag Davis through the mud with the PED suspension joke. I certainly hope he didn't take anything prohibited, but the probability is not zero. We've certainly seen many, many examples of players taking prohibited shortcuts. Hopefully no one on the Orioles gets a PED suspension and I would say I especially wish that for Davis. He's caught plenty of grief as is.
