What's with the Yusniel regression?

Recommended Posts

3 for 4 with a BB and a HR yesterday.

Guess who's back?

Maybe.

2 HR in the last 3 games.

The entire team was locked in with the starter last night as he made pitching in the middle of the plate look like his job. Saying that, Diaz showed some good power to left on a fastball down.

Can't help but think Yusniel Regression would make a good math rock band name.

Good Math Rock Band is something that doesn’t exist.

Since the day this thread was started (one week after rejoining Bowie, after returning from injury), Diaz is hitting .295/.394/.705 with 7 home runs in 16 games.

The Baysox in general have been dominant of late.

Diaz has 9 homers and 35 RBI in 45 games. If he played 81 games like McKenna, his numbers would probably be closer to 15 homers and 50 RBI, which would put him second in the league in both.

Homered yesterday, going 2 for 3 with 4 RBI.    His OPS at Bowie is now up to .802, though his BA is still on the low side at .244.    Nice to see his power developing, though.

Definitely needs to hit for a higher average, but everything else looks good... getting a lot of walks and hitting for a ton of power. Hopefully he can close out the rest of the season that way and get the average up.
