If he had trade value and Elias was actively trying to trade him why wasn't he traded?

But sure the results of three at bats changes everything.

Not like someone like Felix Pie could hit for a cycle.

Yeah, but can Villar chase down batting helmets after GW HRs like Pie? I have my doubts.

Quick in my head math it's 3ish per 9 innings. Very bad.

( it was a joke, I know it’s bad)

If Elias thought he had no value he would've been traded for nothing. Obviously that didn't happen.

If other teams thought he had value he would have been traded for something.

When you trade a guy for nothing it's called releasing them.

Pie had Luke Scott to encourage him by throwing banana chips.

When I was driving home from the gym about 25 minutes ago, John Sterling sounded so happy with the Yankees being up by a score of 6-1.

I think MLB is down on him.

I'm not particularly down on him, I just don't want to pay him more than they have to and don't want him back on a multi-year deal.

If they can sign him for 1/3 or maybe 1/5 I'd be fine with it.

If you were him would you take a 1/3 deal. Seriously dude! This is getting absurd! I've suggested about 5.5 million on a 2 to 3 year deal. That would be incentive to accept less than he could get in arb. I really enjoy watching Villar and Alberto play. We dont have anything up the middle and Martin should spend next year and possibly the year after at AAA. And he might never hit!

Meanwhile, for tonight at least, Mr Villar is forgiven.

The night is young! He may still make a bonehead play.

A two year deal for a small AAV would be acceptable. They aren’t doing anything for two years until some pitchers are ready. Villar is a decent placeholder.
