Why did Davis go after Hyde? He was not happy.

Maturity, restraint and tact as well. I’m sure Davis understands the full meaning of Elias not offering any pro forma GM-speak rubbish in his defense. That should speak loudly enough.

...as will the club, via Elias, giving up on CD and finally ending this debacle in the off-season.

In fairness to DD, Elias hasn’t done anything to improve the club.  When DD got here he came in and signed Chen and Gonzalez and Traded for Hammel before the season began.  Later in the season he traded for Saunders and he also singed Eveland and Ayala and traded for Lindstrom.

Elias one move was signing a guy who was injured for 2 years and had an injury that players don’t come back from.

I would laugh, but honestly your stubborn refusal to understand what is going on is ridiculous. Comparing the situation of Duquette to Elias show how little you honestly understand. I would go on more, but it honestly is not worth the effort. You have literally become a caricature of yourself with this post. Congrats if that was what you were going for.

I am just stating facts.  I prefer to judge the GM on what they do.  So far Elias hasn’t done anything to judge.

Spent more on international players than we have in the last 9 or 10 years combined.

Brought new technology and teaching techniques into our minor league system with CLEAR improvement in results by our minor league pitchers.

Has us on a pace to win more games than last year (when we had a GM who was TRYING to win and actually thought he had a contender going into the season!), while spending very little.   He's doing it by using the waiver wire (6 or 7 pickups since he has taken over), Rule 5 draft, minor deals.   Our team is now the youngest in the majors.   He has shed payroll that is being used to improve our player development, scouting, and analytics.

You clearly are intentionally ignoring all that so you can stick to your fiction that he has "done nothing".

Have we?  I haven't seen any figures recently.   BA only has a confirmed $1,275,000 spent for three players.  No numbers on the other 24 they signed.

If someone has an accurate accounting of what they have spent to date I'd like to see it.

So you're saying if someone has done nothing that makes sense and offered nothing to improve the environment....

And you're selectively stating facts...which of course makes your take completely baseless, but hey, your entitled to your opinion, even if it is...what did Tony-OH say the other day to someone else, you're entitled to your opinion even if it is ill informed and wrong.

There's more to building an organization than just signing stop-gaps.

Returning to the OP's Q: "Why did Davis go after Hyde?":

Dr. Jekyl went after Hyde because the latter was malevolent and destructive. Since, however, the monster was the product of ingesting his own concoction, vanquishing Hyde required that the formerly celebrated Jekyl depart as well, something that Davis is unwilling to do.

Crick is not a happy man. But in truth I'm always impressed that there aren't a lot more incidents like this every season.

No he's not.  What I'm stupefied by nowadays is all the odd coaching titles they have out there now.  The Pirates actually have a  "... director of cultural readiness and peak performance coach"  and that he, Hector Morales, was involved in one of the altercations.  It's almost comical.

This is a joke statement.

Are you trolling us?

No, sadly, you believe the BS, that you write.

So, there has been no trades, no signings, no coaches hired or let go?

Get a grip.

We expected a 3 year get well plan, because the team was so hosed up.

Your panties are twisted, because he didnt sign any high price veterans to play in the stop gap roles, while they got healthy.

This season, was not the year to waste money that way, at least most of us feel that way, and apparently so does the Org.

I suspect next ST, you might see a few signings.

And back to DD, which I was a fan.

You neglected to acknowledge, that Andy started the rebuild, and that DD was brought in for a total overhaul.

Just stating the facts.

You are blindly supporting someone no matter what he does.  If you don't want to use facts for a basis of judging someone than what is the point of even posting?  Just go on say he is great no matter what he does or in this case doesn't do.
