Why did Davis go after Hyde? He was not happy.

By the way, I was playing softball last weekend and in my final at bat the other team moved one of their infielders into the outfield, leaving only only guy on the LH side.     The first pitch I saw, I just hit a ground ball where the 3B usually would be for a single.     As I rounded first, I said to the first baseman, who I know is an Orioles fan, “who do you guys think I am, Chris Davis?”

I hope he is in the lineup Sunday.  The last home game.  Because that might be an indication they are letting the fans "say goodbye" to him, and give me a hope that maybe they intend to cut him loose sometime before February.

If they remove him early on Sunday to applause, you might have a newsflash!  🤠

Yeah I tried to clarify because he seemed to be confused with my post.  I don't really understand it.  Seems everyone just wants to argue with me for no reason.  Drungo is actually the one who posts just to argumentative.

You must be a good hitter to get shifted in a rec league game. Or was it a situational thing?

I think that is wishful thinking. I would not take it as a signal of anything.

They would certainly not announce it as a bon voyage. The fans are more likely to boo than cheer IMO.

Not even a rec league game.   A weekly pickup game that I organize in our neighborhood.  I’m a decent hitter, but nothing special. In my old age, I pull the ball less and hit to the opposite field more.    But I certainly can hit a hard ground ball to the left side of the infield at will.   Needless to say, it’s easier to do in slow pitch softball than it is when facing major league pitching.

If you can put your bat on a major league pitch you should be able to direct to the opposite field.  Major League pitching doesn’t break the laws of physics,  the problem is getting your bat on the ball.

So I read an article interviewing guys who hit into the shift the most and all said thing like other team want them to hit singles.   Takes 3 singles to score a run.  They want to hit doubles and home runs,
