The Ravens may be talking Jalen Ramsey Trade

Recommended Posts

Keywords are "may be". Among a great deal of chatter about Ramsey's potential suitors, comes this tweet from someone I'm unfamiliar with, but Tony Lombardi replied to him, so take it FWIW...

I find that offer to be in the realm of the quite unlikely.

Good lord, that's a lot. lol  I love his talent (not really a fan of his attitude, though), but I don't wanna be the one who gives up that much for him.

I find it ironic that both Tunsil and Ramsey are good enough to get their teams this kind of return considering Ozzie passed on both of them.  Do you think Ozzie thinks Ramsey is worth that 3rd rounder now? lol  Just remember, that 3rd rounder he refused to give up ended up being Kaufusi ... lol

I could see Hurst and a first rounder. I might do another pick (3rd round) if he would agree to tone down the talk. Any more than that, no thanks.

That offer is borderline lunacy.

A1st plus Hurst would be pricey IMO.

Ramsey was never an option. He was gone before we picked. Tunsil was due to the weed/gas mask photo. I don't know if a third was on the table.

The Ravens could get similar deals for Stanley and Humphrey....Do you want us to trade them.

Plus, I don't believe the Jags really want to trade him.

I would give a first and a fourth.  That seems reasonable.  If you are trading Hurst, a First and a Third that becomes too much.  Ramsey only has one  more year on his deal after this year.  And he isn't cheap next year.

He was.  We offered our 1st and a 4th to Dallas.  Dallas wanted the 1st and a 3rd ... Ozzie said no.  I'm not sure how Ozzie thought he could move into the top 5 without giving up a 3rd.  If the trade happens:

4 - we take Ramsey

5 - Jacksonville went almost entirely defense this draft.  I want to say they'd take Buckner (DE) here

6 - Dallas still gets Elliot
3rd round - We don't have to worry about wasting a pick on Kaufusi 😂

This is the same draft that we had Myles Jack (MLB) land in our lap in the 2nd round and, instead of taking him, we traded back and took ... Correa.  Jack was easily considered the top LB in the draft and a lock to go in the first few picks, but he fell due to his knee injury.

It's only been 3 years and Ramsey is considered one of the top CB's in the league and Jack just signed a big extension, 4 years/$57 Mil. with $33 guaranteed.  Meanwhile, Correa and Kaufusi are both already gone.  The only saving grace from this is that the extra pick we got from Jacksonville to move down (146) turned into Judon.

Trading for Ramsey wouldn't make sense as far as the salary cap. You don't trade a first rounder plus and not extend him and he is going to be the highest paid CB once he gets a new deal. Humphrey will get a big contract when his tim is up as well and you already have a highly paid Tavon Young who was just extended. I don't see how they could possible have such an expensive secondary and address the bigger needs on the team the next couple years. Just think how the offensive line and pass rush would look if Yanda retired and they couldn't afford Judon.

If Raven's aren't willing to give up a Khalil Mack like return, then it ain't happening.  Jags desperately need a TE and Ravens seem to grow them on trees so it could be a potential fit though.  Two 1st round picks plus Hayden Hurst would probably get it done.  Jags won't trade the best CB in football for less especially since just about every team has inquired.
