I think Herrera is the starting 2B for the Tides to begin the season but he could play a key role for the O's during the season is things fall right for him. He will be 26 this season with a year of major league service time under his belt. He has more power than Alberto and maybe more range at 2B. Alberto has to prove that he can hit righties this season. If he does he is an everyday player. If he doesn't he may platoon with Ruiz at 3B. I will be interested to see if Herrera can backup SS.
I think Elias made a good signing with Herrera. He had 24 homers in the International league last season in 407 at bats.
