vs. RED SOX, 9/29

Recommended Posts

I know people like to point out the positives about the Orioles this season but it's disappointing that there appears to be only four viable ML pitchers that pitched for the Orioles this season. Those pitchers are Means, Bundy, Wojo, and Hunter Harvey. Add in the struggles of the Norfolk pitchers and I have a hard time seeing this team being contenders before 2022. And that's assuming everything breaks right.

Givens has had a down year but he's hardly unviable.

I tend to agree with that bottom line -- bad team in '20, shoot for .500 in '21 with lots of young pitching, and then hope for contention in '22. And that's if things go well. But it's not different from what I expected, especially when you include the fact that Means wasn't on that list when the season began.

On the other hand, it's pretty sad that on the last day of the season, in a one-run game, we bring in Shawn Armstrong to try to hold on to the lead.

I would not give up on Givens, Castro or Fry. And I think Tanner Scott can become an effective reliever.
